The Timex x Pan Am Waterbury GMT, reference TW2W97300, is a 39 mm quartz watch with an independently described office/caller-style GMT function—not a flyer GMT. Timex lists a blue Arabic-numeral dial, date display, brown leather strap and 100 m water-resistance rating. Those are manufacturer specifications; this article is not a firsthand wear or timing test.
What the Timex x Pan Am Waterbury GMT is
TW2W97300 pairs the Waterbury line with Pan Am design details. Timex specifies a stainless-steel case, blue dial, mineral-glass crystal and brown leather strap. The movement is quartz analog, with an additional 24-hour hand intended to track a second time zone.
Timex describes the dial as having full Arabic markings, luminous hands, a red two-tone GMT hand and an airplane-inspired seconds hand. The date window sits at 3 o’clock. The strap has contrast stitching, blue lining and globe-shaped grommets; Timex says its quick-release spring bars allow strap changes without tools. These are the manufacturer’s descriptions, not independent inspection findings. Timex product listing.
Is it a caller GMT or a flyer GMT?
It is an office/caller GMT, according to Timex’s answer in the product-page Q&A—not a flyer GMT. The distinction matters when choosing a watch for travel: the two GMT styles handle local-time adjustment differently. Timex’s answer establishes the type, but does not provide further movement-caliber details or a complete operating procedure, so do not assume a particular setting sequence from the label alone. Case size, strap fit and practical details
The listed 39 mm diameter and 11.5 mm height give a useful starting point for estimating proportions, while the listed 67.1 g weight describes the watch as specified. They cannot establish how it will sit on an individual wrist. If possible, compare those dimensions with a watch you already wear or try the case on in person.
Rank #2
- Quartz GMT Movement - When used in conjunction with the black and blue rotating bezel, the two-blue and white triangle GMT hand can be used to track a second time zone.
- Stainless-steel - The stainless-steel case and bracelet are resistant to corrosion, rust, and daily wear and tear.
- Date Window - Easily track the date in a dedicated window beside 3 o'clock.
- Enhanced Visibility - Luminant hands ensure readability in low-light conditions.
The strap is 20 mm wide. That measurement can help when looking for a replacement, but width alone does not confirm compatibility: check the strap’s end shape, spring-bar fit and the replacement listing’s measurements. Timex lists the supplied strap’s bars as quick-release and tool-free.

What the available specifications do not establish
The manufacturer’s listing is useful for identifying the model and its stated features, but it does not establish independent accuracy measurements, long-term reliability, actual wrist fit, or movement-caliber details beyond quartz GMT. Customer reviews and a manufacturer Q&A are not a substitute for controlled testing or a firsthand review. Evaluate those questions separately rather than treating product copy as proof.
