Tissot makes watches across several distinct collections, so the right choice depends on the style, fit, and features you want—not the brand name alone. Start by choosing a family such as the sporty PRX or Seastar, the more versatile PR 100 or Gentleman, or the Ballade, then compare the specifications and warranty for the exact reference.
How to choose among Tissot watch collections
Tissot’s official collection pages include the PRX, PR 100, Gentleman, and Ballade, among other lines, as well as Seastar models. Their designs and specifications vary, so a collection name is a useful starting point rather than a complete description of a watch. Tissot’s classic collection

Choose by style and intended use
- PRX: Consider it if you are drawn to a distinctive integrated-bracelet look; check the individual reference for its movement, size, and materials.
- PR 100: A collection with varied configurations. One cited 41 mm example is a quartz chronograph, illustrating that the family name alone does not tell you every function.
- Gentleman and Ballade: These are additional Tissot collection options. Compare specific models for their design and specifications rather than assuming all watches in either family are identical.
- Seastar: A sports-oriented collection that includes models with differing levels of water resistance and construction. The Seastar 2000 example below is a particularly robust, large watch, not a stand-in for every Seastar.
Availability, prices, and stock change over time. Check Tissot’s current catalog and an authorized seller’s listing for the precise model you are considering.
Compare the exact reference, not just the collection name
Before deciding, compare the full reference number and product page. Case diameter and thickness affect wrist fit; movement type and functions affect how the watch operates; and water resistance, materials, and strap options determine whether its construction suits your plans.

- Case Size: 40.00 millimeter; Band Width: 12 millimeter; Case Thickness: 10.40 millimeter
- Swiss quartz movement, 316L stainless steel case, Index dial type, date
- Stainless steel bracelet, butterfly clasp with push-buttons closure
- Water-resistant up to a pressure of 10 bar (100 meter / 330 feet): Suitable for short periods of recreational swimming and showering, but no diving or snorkeling.
- Movement and functions: Determine whether the watch is automatic or quartz and whether you want features such as a chronograph.
- Fit: Check case diameter and thickness, then consider how the case shape and bracelet or strap sit on your wrist.
- Water resistance: Read the rating alongside construction details such as a screw-down crown or rotating bezel, if listed. A rating is not a blanket guarantee for every activity or for a watch with aging seals.
- Materials: Verify the case, bezel, crystal, dial, and bracelet or strap materials on the exact product page.
- Ownership details: Check the warranty terms for your location and whether the seller is an official or authorized retailer.
Two examples show why references matter

These are specifications listed by Tissot for the named references, not universal specifications for the Seastar or PR 100 families. See the Seastar 2000 product page and the PR 100 product page for their details.
Understand the warranty and where to buy
Warranty duration and terms depend on the model and the applicable country. Tissot’s US warranty page describes a 24-month international warranty from purchase for covered material and manufacturing defects, subject to its conditions, documentation requirements, and exclusions. Tissot’s US FAQ states that watches with Lightmaster Solar Technology and COSC-certified watches have a three-year international warranty. Check the terms that apply to your exact watch and location rather than assuming every model has the same coverage. Tissot US warranty terms and Tissot US FAQ

Tissot says it sells through authorized retailers and official online boutiques. For a secondhand watch or questions about provenance, contact Tissot customer service or an authorized service center; a serial or identification check by itself should not be treated as conclusive proof of authenticity. Warranty wording and consumer rights may differ by country, so buyers outside the US should consult their local Tissot warranty information.

Tissot recommends general service checks every three to four years and an annual water-resistance check by an authorized service center. The company also cautions that seals can age and shocks can affect water resistance. Follow the manufacturer’s guidance: do not operate the crown or pushers underwater, rinse the watch with fresh water after seawater exposure, and avoid shocks and extreme temperatures. These are Tissot’s care recommendations, not a guarantee that a particular watch remains water-resistant between inspections. Tissot customer service and care information
