Toledano & Chan is an independent watch brand founded by Phil Toledano and Alfred Chan, known for integrated-bracelet watches shaped by brutalist architecture and sculptural materials. Its story runs from the lapis-dial B/1 through the titanium-and-gold b/1.3r to The Breutalist collaboration and the announced Oshinobi prototype. The dates, specifications and prices below are attributed to the publications and announcements that reported them; prices and availability can change.
Who makes Toledano & Chan watches?
Phil Toledano and Alfred Chan founded the brand. Their partnership developed from conversations about brutalist buildings and how architectural forms might translate into watches. Toledano said the idea began with making something they themselves loved, rather than setting out to create a watch company. In a Time+Tide interview, he described May 2024 as when the brand was established. A later WatchPro interview uses the phrase “Since launching in 2021” without explaining what that date refers to. Those accounts may describe different stages, so neither date should be treated as a definitive equivalent of the other.
What defines the Toledano & Chan design?
The brand’s central idea is an integrated-bracelet watch conceived as a continuous sculptural object, rather than a conventional case with a bracelet added afterward. Its stated influences include brutalist architecture and 1970s integrated-bracelet designs; Toledano and Chan have also named the Rolex Midas and Audemars Piguet designs as inspirations. In the Horology Club announcement for The Breutalist, the specific architectural reference is Marcel Breuer’s former Whitney Museum building in New York.
Case geometry, the transition into the bracelet, the crystal and the dial’s material treatment all contribute to the visual effect. Toledano told WatchPro, “Toledano & Chan has never been a movement story – it’s always been about design.” That is the founders’ description of the brand’s priorities, not a claim that movement specifications are irrelevant to buyers.

How did the B/1 become the brand’s first signature?
B/1: lapis lazuli and an asymmetric case
The inaugural B/1 established the recognizable form: an asymmetric architectural case flowing into an integrated steel bracelet, paired with a lapis lazuli dial. Time+Tide’s 2024 launch interview reported a 33.5 mm case, 904L steel construction, 50 m water resistance, sapphire crystal and an automatic Sellita SW100 movement with a 42-hour power reserve. The same interview reported an original US$4,000 price and a launch limited to 175 pieces. These are original-release details, not current offers or a guarantee of present availability.
B/1.2: mother-of-pearl
The B/1.2 carried the family’s architectural shape forward with a mother-of-pearl dial, as reported in Time+Tide’s 2025 brand interview. The change in dial material gives the series a different character without abandoning its sculptural case-and-bracelet language. The reported releases do not constitute a complete catalogue of every special edition or one-off.

What changed with the b/1.3r?
The b/1.3r retains the compact asymmetric integrated-bracelet design but shifts the material emphasis to Grade 5 titanium and a solid-gold ripple dial. WatchPro reported a 32 mm case, asymmetric sapphire crystal, Sellita SW100 movement and Swiss manufacture. Its report gave a US$10,200 price and said it would be available to purchase from February 12, 2026; that is launch-period reporting, not confirmation of current price or stock.
The manufacturing geography is a meaningful distinction between releases. Unpolished Watches’ January 2026 conversation says the first Toledano & Chan releases were made in China and the b/1.3r in Switzerland. This should not be generalized into a claim that every watch from the brand is Swiss-made.

What is The Breutalist?
The Breutalist is a collaboration between Toledano & Chan and The Horology Club, announced June 18, 2026. It returns to the architectural roots of the design with a blasted Grade 5 titanium case and integrated bracelet, plus a mirror dial. The Horology Club announcement lists a Sellita SW100 movement and these dimensions:
- Width: 32.00 mm
- Length: 30.60 mm
- Thickness: 9.90 mm excluding the lens; 12.30 mm including it
The announcement specifies a 15-piece edition and prices of US$7,500 / HK$59,000, with inquiries directed to the club. Those are announcement details; they do not establish whether any pieces remain available. Chan described the collaboration as an effort to “strip away the exotic elements” and return to the roots of the brand’s inspiration.

What does the brand’s stated direction suggest?
The confirmed forward-looking detail in the available reporting is the Oshinobi’s planned limited production in 2027; its production specifications and commercial terms remain undisclosed. More broadly, when WatchPro asked about 2026 goals, the founders replied, “If we do our job properly, you’ll see things you’ve not seen before.” That signals an ambition to keep experimenting, but it is not a specific announcement of additional models.
