The Tudor Heritage Ranger 79910 is a 41 mm, no-date automatic that pairs a clean, vintage-inspired dial with modern everyday-watch specifications. Introduced in 2014, it stands apart from today’s Ranger: the Heritage uses a Tudor calibre 2824, has an approximately 38-hour power reserve and is rated to 150 m water resistance, according to a 2014 review. Its appeal is straightforward design and strap versatility; its main trade-off is a size that may feel contemporary rather than historically compact.

What the Heritage Ranger 79910 is

Tudor introduced the Heritage Ranger reference 79910 in 2014 as a modern interpretation of the Ranger look. The 41 mm case, black dial and no-date layout make it a simple, symmetrical sports watch. It is a distinct, discontinued generation—not the same watch as the current Ranger models.

Tudor says Hans Wilsdorf registered the Ranger name in 1929, while the familiar dial design—with Arabic numerals at 3, 6, 9 and 12 and an arrow-shaped hour hand—took shape in the 1960s. The British North Greenland Expedition of 1952–1954 used Tudor Oyster Prince watches, but those watches did not carry the Ranger name on their dials. Tudor presents the later Ranger line as continuing the expedition-watch concept, not as the name printed on those expedition watches. Tudor’s Ranger history and collection.

Heritage Ranger 79910 specifications

Specification Heritage Ranger 79910
Case diameter 41 mm (Tudor model history)
Case Satin-finished steel; domed sapphire crystal (Time+Tide Watches, 2014 review)
Movement Tudor calibre 2824, self-winding (Time+Tide Watches, 2014 review)
Power reserve Approximately 38 hours (Time+Tide Watches, 2014 review)
Water resistance 150 m / 500 ft (Time+Tide Watches, 2014 review)
Dial and display Matte black, luminous markers, 3-6-9-12 numerals, broad-arrow hour hand and red-tipped seconds hand; no date (Time+Tide Watches, 2014 review)
Crown Screw-down (Time+Tide Watches, 2014 review)

Specifications above describe the Heritage 79910, not later Ranger references. The 150 m figure is the rating reported in the independent review; it is not evidence of a comparative water-resistance test.

Design and wear: vintage cues in a modern-sized case

A legible, deliberately spare dial

The four Arabic numerals and arrow-shaped hour hand do most of the visual work. With no date window or extra dial display, the layout stays balanced and easy to read. Reviewer Felix Scholz praised the dial’s texture and legibility, as well as the vintage references in the crystal and case. Those judgments are subjective impressions from his 2014 review, not a controlled assessment.

The 41 mm question

At 41 mm, the Heritage Ranger has proportions that Scholz described as contemporary. That size is part of the decision: it offers a larger presence, while someone seeking a closer-to-historic, smaller-wearing feel may prefer a different reference. The review does not provide a wrist-size comparison or standardized fit measurements, so trying one on is the best way to judge how the case suits you.

Straps change the watch’s character

The reviewed configurations included a bracelet, leather and camouflage fabric straps. The different options shift the Ranger from more polished to distinctly casual. The supplied fabric strap used sewn-in spring bars; the reviewed leather strap had a Tudor shield deployant clasp. Scholz found sharp edges on that clasp. This is one reviewer’s observation, not a claim about every example or owner experience. Third-party strap fit is not established by the review, so confirm attachment type and sizing before buying a replacement.

What the 2014 review liked—and what it did not

  • Strengths reported: the uncluttered no-date dial, distinctive arrow hand, clear numeral layout, vintage-inspired details and adaptable look across strap configurations.
  • Reservations reported: Scholz wanted brighter lume and noted sharp edges on the leather strap’s deployant clasp. These are reviewer impressions; the article does not report durability testing or broader owner data.

Those findings make the 79910 best understood as a design-led everyday watch. The available review supports an assessment of its appearance and listed specifications, but not conclusions about long-term reliability or comparative performance.

Heritage Ranger 79910 vs today’s Ranger

Tudor expanded the current Ranger line in a February 19, 2026 announcement, adding a 36 mm case and a Dune white dial alongside the 39 mm model. The current generation uses manufacture calibres, unlike the 79910’s calibre 2824. Here is the useful distinction between the Heritage model and the current range:

Feature Heritage Ranger 79910 Current Ranger (2026 announcement)
Case sizes 41 mm (Tudor model history) 36 mm and 39 mm
Movement Calibre 2824 (Time+Tide Watches, 2014 review) MT5400 in 36 mm; MT5402 in 39 mm (Tudor, 2026 announcement)
Power reserve Approximately 38 hours (Time+Tide Watches, 2014 review) Approximately 70 hours, stated by Tudor for the current manufacture calibres
Water resistance 150 m / 500 ft, as stated by the 2014 review 100 m, on Tudor’s current 39 mm reference 79950 page
Dial options Matte black dial in the reviewed model Black or Dune white in the 2026 announcement
Clasp adjustment Not stated in the cited 2014 review T-fit bracelet clasp listed for the current 39 mm reference 79950

The water-resistance values come from different model sources and are specifications, not results of a head-to-head test. Tudor says the current calibres are COSC-certified, use a silicon balance spring and provide approximately 70 hours of reserve. Tudor also states an assembled-watch running variation of -2 to +4 seconds per day, compared with COSC’s -4 to +6 seconds per day for an uncased movement. These are Tudor’s stated specifications and performance claims, not independent test results. See Tudor’s current Ranger page and its February 19, 2026 Ranger announcement.

Price, warranty and buying a discontinued 79910

Tudor’s February 19, 2026 announcement listed U.S. prices of $3,700 for the 36 mm bracelet model, $3,350 for the 36 mm fabric-strap model, $3,825 for the 39 mm bracelet model and $3,475 for the 39 mm fabric-strap model. These are announced prices for current configurations, not verified live retail prices and not a current market valuation for the discontinued 79910.

Tudor says its current collection has a five-year transferable guarantee without registration or periodic maintenance checks. That statement does not establish warranty coverage for any particular used Heritage Ranger.

Since the 79910 is discontinued, assess the individual watch rather than relying on the reference name alone. Before committing, ask the seller to confirm:

  • That the reference is 79910 and the watch matches the Heritage model being offered.
  • Its condition and service history, with supporting documentation where available.
  • Exactly which bracelet, straps, clasp and accessories are included.
  • Whether the strap or bracelet attachment is compatible with any replacement strap you intend to use.
  • What warranty, if any, applies to that specific sale.

Tudor directs customers to its official retailers through its website; retailer availability and the condition of a pre-owned 79910 will depend on the seller and market.
