TOZO Enters the XR Market With the VIZO V1 Display Glasses

The VIZO V1 brings TOZO into display glasses with a simulated 118-inch screen, built-in myopia adjustment and a cable-dependent setup—not standalone XR.

TOZO is entering wearable displays with the VIZO V1, tethered glasses designed to put a large private screen in front of you for films and games. TOZO listed them at $299.99, down from $379.99, in August 2026. The key distinction: they are a display for a connected device, not a standalone headset with its own apps or spatial-computing platform.

Why TOZO is moving into wearable displays

TOZO has been associated with audio products; its CES 2026 materials present VIZO as an expansion into wearables, AR and XR. TOZO says VIZO is a Seattle-based brand founded and registered in 2025, incubated with its support. Those are company descriptions, not independently audited facts. The company showcased VIZO products at CES 2026, held January 6–9. TOZO’s CES overview and VIZO’s CES page frame the move as a broader wearable push, rather than evidence that TOZO is building a standalone XR platform.

The VIZO V1 is the clearest expression of that strategy: a relatively simple, wired private display aimed at entertainment and portability. Its appeal depends less on virtual-reality features than on whether it works comfortably with the phone, laptop or gaming device you already own.

What the VIZO V1 is—and what it is not

The V1 is best understood as display glasses. Connect a compatible source, and the lenses present its video as a large virtual screen. That can be useful for watching a film on a flight or playing a handheld game without relying on a small built-in display.

“AR glasses” can suggest that digital objects are tracked and anchored to the room. Available coverage does not establish that capability for the V1. An independent review reported no eye tracking or onboard operating system and described the product as entertainment-focused. It is not a direct counterpart to a standalone headset such as Apple Vision Pro or Samsung Galaxy XR. Nor should “smart glasses” be read as a promise of cameras, notifications, voice assistants or AI features.

  • Display glasses: show video from an external device, typically as a virtual screen. This is the V1’s primary category.
  • Tracked AR glasses: can respond to head movement or keep virtual elements positioned in space, depending on the hardware and software.
  • Standalone mixed-reality headsets: include onboard computing and tracking for apps and spatial interaction.
  • Audio or AI smart glasses: may offer microphones, cameras or assistant features without providing a private visual display.

VIZO V1 specifications and price

The figures below are advertised by TOZO, not independent laboratory measurements. In particular, the 1,800-nit brightness claim should not be treated as a verified measurement or a guarantee of clear viewing in every outdoor condition.

Feature TOZO’s stated specification What it means
Price $299.99 sale price, reduced from $379.99, listed in August 2026 A retailer price that can change; check the current listing and regional terms.
Resolution 1080p Full HD TOZO’s stated viewing resolution.
Brightness Up to 1,800 nits Manufacturer claim; no independent measurement is established here.
Virtual screen 118 inches A simulated viewing size, not a physical screen or a guarantee of a particular apparent size for every wearer.
Contrast ratio 100,000:1 Manufacturer-listed figure.
Field of view 41 degrees Manufacturer-stated field of view.
Myopia adjustment 0–500 degrees Advertised nearsightedness adjustment; it does not establish support for every prescription.
Viewing modes 2D and 3D switching 3D results depend on compatible source content and playback format.
Audio Built-in stereo speakers Convenient, but one independent reviewer found the sound thin.
Connection and controls USB-C with DisplayPort compatibility; onboard brightness, volume and 2D/3D controls The source device must output video over USB-C; a USB-C-shaped port alone is not enough.

TOZO’s VIZO V1 product listing carries the price and headline specifications. A TOZO CES product guide and its business product page provide additional product details. The company also advertises a 30-day money-back guarantee, “12+6 months” warranty language and lifetime support; check the current terms for your country and whether any extra warranty period requires registration.

How connection and setup work

The glasses need a separate device to provide video. They are not a wireless streaming product on their own, and the available coverage does not identify a local app platform. Before ordering, check the exact model of your source device—not just whether it has USB-C.

  1. Confirm video output: check the device specifications for USB-C DisplayPort Alt Mode or equivalent video output. USB-C charging support by itself does not mean the port can send video.
  2. Check the connection route: TOZO describes USB-C DisplayPort compatibility. A phone or computer with supported video output can connect by cable; devices with HDMI or another output may need an intermediary adapter.
  3. Check power and content restrictions: some adapters need external power, and adapter or operating-system behavior can affect DRM-protected streaming apps. Do not assume every converter will work.
  4. Connect and adjust: plug in the supplied USB-C cable, put on the glasses and adjust the built-in myopia dials. Use the onboard controls for brightness, volume and 2D/3D mode.

For consoles, iPhones and devices without direct USB-C video output, compatibility depends on the specific model and adapter. The available product information does not provide a complete, independently verified compatibility list. Confirm the full chain—source output, adapter, power and the app you intend to use—before buying.

What one independent review found

In a June 19, 2026 review, Phandroid described the display as bright and attractive and said setup with a Google Pixel phone was straightforward. The reviewer also reported that the glasses became tight around the ears after roughly an hour and judged the built-in speakers thin compared with stronger alternatives. The review rated the V1 7/10. These are one reviewer’s impressions, not universal comfort or sound measurements.

  • [Advanced Micro-OLED Visual System] Built with a Real RGB 1080P Micro-OLED panel, delivers crisp details and fluid motion clarity. Peak brightness reaches 6000 nits with a 200,000:1 contrast ratio for enhanced dynamic range. • [Ultra-Smooth 120Hz Viewing for Gaming & Video] Engineered with a 120Hz high refresh rate, these AR glasses enhance motion smoothness and minimize motion blur during gaming and video playback. Fast-moving scenes appear sharper and more responsive, creating a fluid and immersive experience across entertainment, productivity, and travel use.

That hands-on account is useful context for the product’s main trade-off: the private-screen concept and simple connection can be appealing, but long-session fit and speaker quality deserve more attention than a headline brightness number. Built-in speakers may also leak sound in quiet public spaces; headphones can be preferable when privacy or isolation matters.

Myopia adjustment, 3D and other limits

Built-in focus adjustment is not universal prescription support

TOZO advertises adjustment from 0 to 500 degrees for myopia. That can be valuable for some nearsighted users, but the stated range does not establish correction for astigmatism, farsightedness, prism prescriptions or every pupillary distance. The available product information also does not clearly document whether each eye is independently adjustable or exactly how the range maps to standard prescription values. If your prescription is complex, confirm fit and insert options with the seller before relying on the dial.

3D mode depends on the source

A 2D/3D switch does not turn arbitrary video into native 3D. The source must provide content in a format the glasses and playback setup can use, and results can vary by player and app. Phandroid reported viewing 3D YouTube content, but that experience does not prove universal 3D support.

  • Notice:This product is a spectacle frame suitable for Z1 & Z1 Pro AR Glasses. It does not include spectacle lenses. Customers need to choose lenses according to their own eye prescription.

Brightness and screen size are not guarantees

The advertised 1,800 nits and simulated 118-inch screen describe TOZO’s product claims, not a fixed physical image or independent test result. Viewing conditions, fit and the display mode can affect the experience; the figures alone cannot guarantee visibility in bright sunlight or a cinema-like result for every wearer.

How it compares with XREAL, VITURE and a headset

Compare display glasses with other display glasses first. XREAL and VITURE each offer multiple models, so advantages are model-specific; a brand-wide claim would obscure differences in tracking, refresh rate, accessories and price. XREAL’s official product site and VITURE’s official site are the places to check current lineups and regional availability.

Option Best reason to consider it Important qualification
TOZO VIZO V1 Lower listed sale price, built-in myopia adjustment and a simple display-first pitch. Requires a compatible source device; spatial features are not established, and the independent review criticized its speakers.
XREAL glasses Potentially a broader, more established display-glasses ecosystem; selected models have more spatial-processing features. Capabilities vary by model. Compare the exact product, accessory needs and current price with the V1.
VITURE Pro XR More developed software and accessory options; the reviewed model offers 120Hz and features including 3DoF tracking and virtual desktops. Windows Central’s review listed it at $460 and reported up to 4,000 nits, 1080p-per-eye displays and a 46-degree field of view. Those are figures for that reviewed model and review, not a direct independent measurement comparison with the V1. Read the VITURE Pro XR review.
Standalone XR headset Onboard computing, tracking, apps and room-aware interaction, depending on the product. Different category: typically bulkier and more involved than a tethered private display. The V1 should not be judged as a substitute for those capabilities.

The V1’s sale price is only one part of the cost. If your device cannot output video directly, an adapter or powered hub may add expense and complexity; a prescription solution or headphones may also be needed. Compare the complete setup against a competing pair, not just the glasses’ sticker price.

Who should consider the VIZO V1?

  • Frequent travelers who want a private screen for films and are comfortable carrying a cable and source device.
  • Handheld gamers whose device can send video through a supported USB-C connection or a confirmed adapter.
  • Nearsighted users whose needs fit the advertised adjustment range and who verify that the optical setup suits their prescription.
  • Display-first buyers who value portability and a lower listed price more than tracking, onboard software or a broad spatial-workflow ecosystem.

Who should look elsewhere?

  • Anyone expecting wireless streaming, standalone apps, cameras, voice assistants or notifications.
  • People who need stable spatial anchoring, advanced tracking or virtual multi-monitor workflows.
  • Buyers who prioritize strong built-in audio, or who will use the glasses in quiet public places where sound leakage matters.
  • Anyone whose primary device lacks video-capable USB-C and who has not verified an adapter, power and streaming-app setup.
  • Users with prescriptions that may fall outside simple myopia adjustment, including astigmatism or prism correction, unless the seller confirms a suitable solution.

Verdict

The VIZO V1 is a display-glasses entry, not a complete XR computer. Its strongest case is a portable, private virtual screen with advertised high brightness, built-in myopia adjustment and a $299.99 sale listing in August 2026. Its practical value hinges on source-device compatibility, and the one independent review cited here raises concerns about long-session ear comfort and built-in audio. If you want to watch or play on a large private screen and can confirm your connection, it is worth considering; if you want spatial computing, robust productivity features or a self-contained headset, choose a product built for those jobs.
