Trump’s $100,000 Watches Are the Most Tragic Celebrity Watch Yet

Trump’s $100,000 Victory Tourbillon appears to contain a real Swiss-supplied tourbillon, but its opaque production chain, undisclosed gem details, restrictive terms, and celebrity branding leave the price difficult to justify. A 2026 disclosure also reports $4.7 million in royalties to Trump from the licensing arrangement.

Short answer: Trump’s $100,000 Victory Tourbillon is not demonstrably fake, worthless, or wholly Chinese. The public evidence points to a real Swiss-supplied tourbillon movement, wrapped in a lavish gold-and-diamond case and sold through a newly formed, opaque licensing company. The stronger criticism is that its theatrical political branding, limited technical disclosure, restrictive purchase terms, and celebrity premium do not convincingly explain the six-figure price.

That conclusion is more damning than the original internet jokes. The watch is a genuine luxury object in the narrow sense that it contains precious materials and a real mechanical complication. But it is also a conspicuous commercial performance: Trump’s name dominates the dial, campaign-era language supplies the identity, and a certified federal disclosure released in 2026 reports that Donald Trump received $4.7 million in royalties from the licensing arrangement.

This is the current picture as of August 10, 2026. The original $100,000 models are displayed as sold out on their product pages, although the collection page still contains pre-order language. The later Crypto President Tourbillon is also shown as sold out. What remains available to examine is the gap between what the seller promises, what independent reporting establishes, and what a buyer is actually being asked to trust.

What was the $100,000 Trump watch?

The original Trump Victory Tourbillon launched in September 2024, during the presidential campaign, at a retail price of $100,000. Trump promoted it in a sales video and on Truth Social, turning a luxury watch launch into an extension of his personal political brand. Contemporary coverage from The Associated Press and The Washington Post documented that launch context.

The seller advertised a limited edition of 147 numbered pieces across three versions: a black-dial model, a gold-dial model, and a rose-gold version. According to the official collection page, the headline specifications were:

Specification What the seller advertised
Price $100,000
Edition 147 numbered watches
Case and bracelet materials Approximately 200 grams of 18-karat gold
Gemstones 122 VS1 diamonds; the seller also uses G+ quality language
Movement Swiss-made TX07 tourbillon
Power reserve 105 hours
Identity features Trump branding, numbering, and a personalized Trump-related message or caseback
Payment Bitcoin was advertised as an accepted payment method

Every material specification in that list should be understood as a seller claim unless independently reported otherwise. The edition size, gold weight, diamond count, and stone grades have not been independently verified in the public record.

The $100,000 tourbillon was not the whole collection. The same operation sold lower-priced Fight Fight Fight models starting at approximately $499, with versions around $799. Those watches should not be treated as cheaper versions of the same horological product. They belong to the same political merchandising ecosystem, but they are materially and technically different products.

The first important correction: Trump is not the watchmaker

The watches are Trump-branded, but they are not made by Donald Trump or the Trump Organization. The seller’s own legal language says that Trump, the Trump Organization, and their affiliates did not design, manufacture, distribute, or sell the watches. Instead, TheBestWatchesonEarth LLC uses Trump’s name, image, and likeness under a paid license agreement. The relevant language appears on the official tourbillon collection page and in the company’s terms of use.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

That makes Trump watch a reasonable brand description, but a watch made by Trump inaccurate. The seller’s marketing has also used phrases such as designed for the president and personally designed for President Trump. Those are marketing statements, not proof that Trump personally designed the case, selected the movement, specified the finishing, or supervised production. The public does not have the complete licensing agreement or its royalty formula.

The financial disclosure changes the significance of that distinction. The certified 2025 annual financial disclosure released by the U.S. Office of Government Ethics on June 30, 2026, reports $4.7 million in royalty income from a license agreement with TheBestWatchesonEarth LLC for Trump Watches. The report says the income was inadvertently omitted from the previous filing.

That does not mean Trump received all sales revenue, or that every dollar came from the $100,000 tourbillon. The filing does not disclose the number of watches sold, gross sales, costs, margins, or the percentage royalty. It does establish something earlier coverage could not: the watch venture generated substantial personal income for the man whose name and image are the product.

Who is behind the seller?

The website identifies TheBestWatchesonEarth LLC as the operator and lists 1309 Coffeen Avenue, Suite 1200, Sheridan, Wyoming 82801 as its address. According to a CNN investigation, the company was registered in Wyoming on July 29, 2024, less than two months before the watch launch.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

CNN reported that the listed location appeared to be a shopping center containing a daycare rather than an obvious watchmaking facility. The same address was associated with numerous other companies, including the entity behind Trump’s gold sneakers. CNN also reported that the registered-agent structure made it difficult to identify the people behind the business and that the Trump campaign did not provide the identities of those involved.

None of that proves criminal conduct, fraud, or that the company is a shell company in the legal sense. The narrower and supportable description is more useful: this was a newly formed, publicly opaque licensing and sales entity, not an established watch manufacture with a visible history of engineering, finishing, and after-sales service.

The movement: real Swiss supply, modestly disclosed ambition

A tourbillon is a rotating mechanical cage that historically aimed to reduce positional timing errors caused by gravity. In a traditional pocket watch, changing the orientation of the escapement could affect the rate. By continuously rotating the relevant components, the tourbillon sought to average out some of those positional effects.

Modern tourbillons are chiefly visible complications and demonstrations of mechanical construction. They can be beautiful and difficult to produce. But the presence of a tourbillon is not an automatic guarantee of superior accuracy, elite finishing, prestigious provenance, or a $100,000 value. A tourbillon is a feature, not a price certificate.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The seller calls the movement the TX07 Tourbillon. Its current technical specifications describe it as:

  • manual winding;
  • a 105-hour power reserve;
  • 3 Hz frequency, or 21,600 beats per hour;
  • 19 jewels;
  • 31 mm diameter;
  • 5.7 mm thickness; and
  • 700 g-mm of mainspring torque.

The manual-winding detail matters because some early coverage described the movement as automatic. The seller’s current specifications say manual winding, so that is the description that should be used unless better evidence emerges. Repeating the automatic claim would reproduce an avoidable technical error.

Early commentary also speculated that the movement might be Chinese or partly Chinese. Later reporting provides a more precise answer. Swiss broadcaster SRF traced the movement to BCP Tourbillons, a company founded by Olivier Mory in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. Mory described the TX07 as a standard movement supplied to multiple customers and gave a price range of approximately CHF 2,200 to CHF 5,500 for the movement.

That price is not the final cost of the watch. It does not include the gold case and bracelet, gemstones, casing, assembly, finishing, quality control, logistics, warranty provision, marketing, licensing, or retail margin. It does establish a useful boundary: the movement itself is not a six-figure mechanism.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The most accurate summary is therefore this:

The watch appears to contain a real Swiss-supplied tourbillon movement from BCP Tourbillons, rather than a counterfeit or imaginary in-house masterpiece. That makes it less fraudulent than some early speculation suggested, but it also makes the $100,000 price harder to justify as a purely horological proposition.

There is still much the public does not know. The seller has not published a detailed technical dossier identifying the movement maker, the finishing standard, adjustment data, independent timing results, chronometric certification, or a global service network. A Swiss-supplied movement is not the same thing as a Swiss-made watch.

What does Swiss-made mean here?

The seller’s wording refers to a Swiss-made TX07 Tourbillon. SRF’s reporting supports the Swiss origin of the movement supplier. It does not establish that the complete watch—including the case, bracelet, diamonds, assembly, and finishing—was made in Switzerland.

The production chain is not fully disclosed. The legal seller is a Wyoming-registered LLC; the movement supplier is in Switzerland; and the origin of every other component and stage of assembly is not public. It would therefore be misleading to say that the entire watch was made in Wyoming, just as it would be misleading to call the entire watch Swiss-made.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The careful description is: a Trump-branded watch marketed by a Wyoming-registered licensing and sales company, containing a Swiss-supplied tourbillon movement, with the rest of the manufacturing chain insufficiently disclosed.

Is it worth $100,000?

There is no defensible single number for the watch’s true value from the information publicly available. The question becomes clearer when divided into material value, watchmaking value, and brand value.

1. The gold

The seller claims approximately 200 grams of 18-karat gold across the case, bracelet, and buckle. If that claimed weight refers entirely to 18-karat gold alloy, then 18-karat purity means 75 percent fine gold—approximately 150 grams of pure gold. The actual bullion value would depend on the gold price on the date of valuation.

That is meaningful material value, but it is not the same as a $100,000 value. The claim is approximate, comes from the seller, and is not accompanied by a publicly cited independent assay. It is also important to know whether the 200 grams describes the total watch weight, the weight of gold components, or an estimate that excludes non-gold parts. The public product information does not answer those questions in enough detail for a rigorous valuation.

2. The diamonds

The headline figure is 122 VS1 diamonds, with G+ language also appearing in the marketing. But the seller does not publish the total carat weight or independent grading reports for the stones.

VS1 describes clarity; it does not, by itself, establish the value of a diamond. One hundred twenty-two small pavé stones can have a very different market value from 122 larger, individually graded diamonds. Without total carat weight, cut information, dimensions, treatments, and independent documentation, the diamond count is primarily a spectacle statistic rather than enough data for serious appraisal.

3. The movement

The reported CHF 2,200–5,500 movement price is the clearest independent anchor in the public record, but it is only an anchor. A complete watch can cost substantially more than its movement. Still, the TX07 does not appear to be an in-house, hand-finished, historically important caliber whose development alone explains the price.

Nor does the seller provide the information that might support a substantial horological premium: no detailed finishing specification, independent chronometric testing, documented adjustment standard, or established service infrastructure is publicly identified.

4. The case, labor, licensing, and retail economics

The remaining price can include gold fabrication, gem setting, case and bracelet construction, assembly, inspection, packaging, shipping, warranty reserves, advertising, Trump’s licensing royalty, retailer or distributor margins, and the premium attached to a limited celebrity product.

Those costs are real. So is the value of a collectible connected to a famous political figure. But the seller does not disclose its manufacturing cost, licensing percentage, diamond carat weight, independent assay, or detailed production location. The public cannot calculate how much of the $100,000 reflects materials and skilled work, and how much reflects branding, scarcity, and margin.

The seller also says the watches are collectibles for personal enjoyment and not investment products. That is an important disclaimer. A limited run of 147 may create scarcity, but there is no demonstrated secondary-market performance showing that buyers can recover the retail price, let alone profit from it.

Value verdict: The watch has real material and mechanical value. The public evidence does not show that it has $100,000 of transparent horological value, nor does it establish a reliable resale case. Calling it worthless would be wrong; calling the six-figure price well justified would require assumptions the seller has not documented.

Why the design invites ridicule

The aesthetic criticism is subjective, but it is not arbitrary. A useful standard is design hierarchy: can the viewer tell what the watch is trying to emphasize, and do the elements support one another?

On the Victory Tourbillon, nearly every status signal is operating at once. There is a large gold case, a diamond-set bezel, a visible tourbillon, prominent Trump branding at 12 o’clock, presidential language, a personalized Trump message or caseback, and the visual vocabulary of campaign merchandise. The case has cues that can read like a dive-watch design, while the diamond and gold treatment presents it as a dress-luxury object. The bezel notches look functional, but there are no obvious dive-time markings that would give them a clear practical role.

The result is not simply that the watch is loud. It is that the symbols compete. The gold says wealth, the diamonds say display, the tourbillon says mechanical sophistication, the Trump name says celebrity, and the presidential references say political power. Instead of one coherent idea, the dial and case make every claim simultaneously.

WIRED’s watch expert Tim Barber characterized the designs as generic and tawdry, and suggested they looked assembled from readily available components. Those are expert aesthetic judgments, not objective measurements. The more precise criticism is that the watch treats luxury as the accumulation of visible status symbols rather than as restraint, proportion, finishing, or a clearly articulated technical idea.

Why the watch is politically strange

The seller says the watches are not political and are not connected to a political campaign. The official FAQ says proceeds do not go to the campaign. That may describe the product’s campaign-finance status, but it does not make the product culturally apolitical.

The collection uses Trump’s name and likeness, the slogans Fight Fight Fight and Victory, presidential titles, campaign-era imagery, the numbers 45 and 47, and—on lower-priced models—the photograph associated with the assassination attempt. Trump personally promoted the flagship watch while campaigning. The brand identity is inseparable from his political persona even if the legal seller is separate from the campaign.

There are three different questions here:

  1. Is it campaign merchandise? The seller says no, and says proceeds do not go to the campaign.
  2. Is it politically branded? Yes. The slogans, imagery, presidential language, and Trump identity make that unmistakable.
  3. Did Trump personally benefit? The 2026 financial disclosure says he received $4.7 million in royalties through the licensing agreement.

The political oddity is that a product can be formally separate from a campaign while still monetizing the same emotional and symbolic audience. The disclaimer separates the merchandise from campaign accounting; it does not separate the watch from Trump’s political brand.

The consumer terms are unusually important at this price

A no-refund novelty watch and a no-refund $100,000 tourbillon are not the same consumer proposition. Before judging the product, a potential buyer should read the seller’s terms of use, FAQ, and warranty.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

What the buyer is agreeing to

  • All sales are final. The terms say purchases are nonrefundable unless the seller makes an exception, and the FAQ says there are no refunds.
  • Delivery dates are estimates. The seller says it is not liable for shipping delays and cannot guarantee when an order will arrive. Some watches may be made to order or preordered.
  • The two-year tourbillon warranty is narrow. It covers the movement, hands, and dial for the original retail purchaser. The case, crystal, strap, buckle, bracelet, stem, and crown are excluded.
  • The buyer bears meaningful return costs. A $35 return-shipping fee applies, and the customer must send the watch back insured at the customer’s expense.
  • Water exposure is not intended. The FAQ says tourbillon watches are not intended for exposure to water.
  • Disputes generally go to individual arbitration. The terms include a class-action waiver, a 30-day period to opt out of the arbitration requirement, and New York governing law.

These provisions are not presented here as illegal, and their enforceability can depend on the facts and applicable law. They are nevertheless material. A $100,000 purchase with no ordinary return right, a limited warranty that excludes many external components, uncertain delivery timing, and a potentially distant service process carries more risk than the price tag suggests.

The lower-priced Fight Fight Fight watches add another warning about product communication. WIRED reported conflicting water-resistance figures among those models. That does not prove that the tourbillon is defective, but it reinforces the need to treat specifications, warranty language, and actual service arrangements as separate questions rather than assuming that a premium price guarantees premium administration.

What happened to the scam allegations?

The broader Trump Watches operation attracted customer complaints involving delays, non-delivery, and ignored refund requests. The Daily Beast reported that 57 percent of 30 Trustpilot reviewers gave the company one star at the time of its review. The publication also noted that it could not independently verify every complaint. The company said it had tens of thousands of satisfied customers and that some complaints had been resolved.

A separate Daily Beast report described a customer receiving a watch marked RUMP, apparently missing the T in TRUMP. That is a memorable quality-control anecdote, not proof that every watch was defective or that the $100,000 tourbillons shared the problem.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The distinction matters. The complaints concern the broader branded-watch operation, not necessarily the 147-piece flagship edition. They should not be converted into a legal conclusion that the company was a scam. They do, however, make fulfillment, customer service, quality control, and warranty support legitimate parts of the value analysis—especially when the buyer is asked to pay in full under a final-sale policy.

The later Crypto President Tourbillon

The business did not end with the original 2024 launch. The seller later listed a Crypto President Tourbillon for $100,000. Its product page advertised only 10 pieces, 200 grams of 18-karat gold, 122 VS1 diamonds, 210 orange sapphires, the same TX07 movement, and the same 105-hour power reserve. Payment was Bitcoin-only.

As of August 10, 2026, that page displayed the model as sold out. It also included an estimated August 2025 delivery date, which is now historical and should not be treated as a current promise. The later product shows how the brand evolved: from campaign-season Trump merchandise into a continuing series of ultra-expensive collectibles combining political identity, crypto culture, and precious-metal spectacle. The Associated Press reported on the broader crypto-themed merchandise expansion.

There is also an unresolved availability inconsistency. The individual pages for the original $100,000 variants show them as sold out, while the collection page still displays pre-order buttons. That may reflect stale site design, a future production allocation, or an ordering option not explained clearly on the product pages. A buyer should obtain written confirmation of availability, edition number, delivery date, and refund rights before sending money.

A fair rubric for judging the watch

The word tragic should mean more than an excuse for political mockery. The watch can be judged across six separate dimensions:

Criterion What the evidence suggests
Horological substance A real Swiss-supplied tourbillon appears to be present, but it is described as a standard movement supplied to multiple customers rather than a documented in-house or demonstrably elite caliber.
Material transparency The gold and diamond claims are impressive but lack the independent assay, total diamond carat weight, and grading documentation needed for serious valuation.
Design coherence The maximalist treatment is intentional, but gold, diamonds, tourbillon display, Trump branding, and presidential symbolism compete for attention.
Provenance and credibility The movement supplier is identifiable, while the licensing seller is newly formed and its ownership and manufacturing chain are difficult to see.
Consumer protection Final-sale terms, narrow warranty coverage, uncertain delivery, customer-paid insured returns, and arbitration make the purchase unusually demanding for the buyer.
Political and commercial meaning The watch is formally separate from the campaign but culturally inseparable from Trump’s political identity; the 2026 disclosure confirms substantial royalty income.

So, why call it tragic?

The watch is not tragic because it contains no real watchmaking. The TX07 appears to be a genuine Swiss-supplied tourbillon. Nor is it tragic because the gold, diamonds, labor, logistics, or branding have no value. They do.

It is tragic because the product places a real but relatively ordinary outsourced horological component beneath an extravagant performance of wealth and power, then leaves the buyer with too little information to judge the premium. It combines:

  • presidential symbolism with ordinary licensing machinery;
  • luxury pricing with thin technical and gem disclosure;
  • scarcity marketing with a no-refund policy;
  • political identity with private royalty income; and
  • maximalist status signaling with weakly documented horological provenance.

The result is a watch whose most important complication may not be the tourbillon. It is the collision between political celebrity and private commerce. The man whose name dominates the dial did not make the watch, but his image made the business possible—and the public now knows that the arrangement paid him $4.7 million.

FAQ

Is Trump’s $100,000 watch actually Swiss-made?

The movement appears to be Swiss-supplied. SRF traced the TX07 tourbillon to BCP Tourbillons in La Chaux-de-Fonds. That does not establish that the complete watch, including its case, bracelet, diamonds, assembly, and finishing, was made in Switzerland.

Did Donald Trump design or manufacture the watch?

No public evidence establishes that Trump manufactured it or personally designed its technical components. The seller’s legal terms say TheBestWatchesonEarth LLC licensed Trump’s name, image, and likeness and that Trump and the Trump Organization did not design, manufacture, distribute, or sell the watches. Marketing language calling it personally designed for Trump should be treated as a promotional claim.

Is the watch a good investment?

There is no demonstrated secondary-market performance supporting that conclusion. The seller expressly says the watches are collectibles for personal enjoyment and are not investment products. The limited edition may create collectibility, but scarcity alone does not guarantee resale value.

What does the two-year warranty cover?

For the Victory Tourbillon, the stated two-year limited warranty covers the movement, hands, and dial for the original retail purchaser. It excludes the case, crystal, strap, buckle, bracelet, stem, and crown. The buyer must return the watch insured at the buyer’s expense, and the policy lists a $35 return-shipping fee.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Did Trump receive money from the watch sales?

According to his certified 2025 annual financial disclosure, released by the Office of Government Ethics on June 30, 2026, Trump reported $4.7 million in royalty income from a license agreement with TheBestWatchesonEarth LLC for Trump Watches. The filing does not say how many watches sold or what percentage royalty applied.

The Bottom Line

Bottom line: Trump’s Victory Tourbillon is best understood as a real Swiss-supplied mechanical watch turned into a political luxury collectible—not as a counterfeit, and not as a transparently justified $100,000 piece of high horology. Its precious materials and tourbillon give it genuine value, but the opaque manufacturing chain, incomplete gem disclosure, narrow warranty, final-sale terms, and celebrity-driven premium leave the buyer paying primarily for the performance of Trump.
