The blue Tudor Black Bay 41 discussed here is the older fixed-bezel, time-only model—not the current Black Bay 41 diver with a rotating bezel. Its appeal is the simpler look: a polished steel bezel, glossy blue dial and familiar snowflake hands in a 41mm case.
What makes the blue Black Bay 41 different?
Felix Scholz’s 2018 Time+Tide hands-on article describes a watch with a deliberately simple role: telling the time, without a rotating dive bezel or additional complications. The smooth, polished steel bezel gives the case a cleaner outline than the diver-style Black Bays. On the dial, luminous dot-and-dash markers and Tudor’s snowflake-tipped hour and seconds hands supply the family resemblance.
The dial is described as deep, glossy blue, with its appearance shifting as it catches the light. That finish adds visual interest without changing the watch’s straightforward time-only layout. Scholz presented it as an option for someone who wants a distinctive everyday watch but does not need the extra visual and functional emphasis of a dive bezel.
Reference and specifications
A 2026 review by specialist seller Precision Watches identifies the older blue fixed-bezel watch it covers as reference M79540-0004. Confirm the reference and condition against the particular watch being offered; listings can use inconsistent descriptions, and the reference alone does not establish a specific watch’s history.

| Bezel | Fixed, polished steel |
| Dial and hands | Blue dial; luminous dot-and-dash markers; snowflake-tipped hour and seconds hands |

The original Time+Tide article gives the 41mm case, ETA 2824 movement, sapphire crystal, blue dial and steel bracelet as the 2018 configuration. The approximately 11mm thickness, 150m water resistance and 38-hour reserve come from Precision Watches’ later reference-level review, not from the 2018 article.
Is it the current Black Bay 41 diver?
No. Tudor’s current official Black Bay 41 page describes a different configuration: reference M7941A1A0NU-0001, with a black dial, 60-minute unidirectional rotating bezel and Tudor MT5602-U movement. The official specifications list a 41mm steel case, 13.6mm thickness, 200m water resistance and 70-hour power reserve. Those figures belong to the current diver-style model, not the older blue M79540-0004.

| Older blue fixed-bezel M79540-0004 | Current black-dial diver M7941A1A0NU-0001 | |
|---|---|---|
| Bezel | Fixed, polished steel | 60-minute unidirectional rotating |
| Dial | Blue | Black |
| Thickness | About 11mm (Precision Watches, 2026) | 13.6mm (Tudor official page, accessed 2026) |
| Water resistance | 150m (Precision Watches, 2026) | 200m (Tudor official page, accessed 2026) |
| Movement and reserve | ETA-based; 38 hours (Precision Watches, 2026) | MT5602-U; 70 hours (Tudor official page, accessed 2026) |
The comparison is useful when searching listings: “Black Bay 41” by itself does not identify the blue fixed-bezel watch. Check the reference, dial, bezel type and movement rather than assuming that specifications for one 41mm Black Bay apply to another.

Time+Tide stated a price of A$3,540 for the bracelet version in its 2018 article. That is historical Australian pricing, not a current quote. Precision Watches cited a US$3,322 wire price for one pre-owned example at the time of its 2026 review; this is a seller-specific listing example, not a market average or a guaranteed current price. Tudor’s official page showed a US$5,325 suggested retail price when accessed on 2026-10-08, but that figure is for the different current black-dial diver M7941A1A0NU-0001, not the older blue watch.
