Whether those differences justify the extra spend depends on your fit, priorities and preference for Tudor—not on the specifications alone.

How much more does the Tudor cost?
Tudor’s European product page lists the steel-bracelet Black Bay GMT at €4,900. T3’s July 2026 review reports £1,190 / €1,560 / US$1,620 / AU$2,195 for the standard C63 configuration it reviewed. These are not a like-for-like market price check: the figures come from different sources and may reflect different taxes, configurations and purchase conditions. Tudor describes its prices as suggested retail and says they may change; check current local pricing for both watches before buying. Tudor’s Black Bay GMT product page · T3’s July 2026 C63 review.
The cited euro prices put Tudor €3,340 above the reviewed C63, but that arithmetic is only a comparison of those two reported figures—not a guaranteed checkout-price difference. The C63 price is for one reviewed configuration, not a verified price list for every size, dial, strap or market.

These are manufacturer- or reviewer-published specifications, not results from a comparative accuracy test. Tudor’s page also identifies a burgundy-and-blue 24-hour bezel, domed sapphire crystal and 22mm lug width for this reference. The size figures suggest the Tudor is both wider and thicker, but dimensions alone cannot establish which watch will feel better on your wrist; try them on if fit is decisive. Neither water-resistance figure, by itself, establishes that a watch is suitable for every form of diving.
Are the GMT functions different?
Yes. Do not assume the standard C63 Sealander GMT has the same setting behavior as the separately named C63 Sealander True GMT. The standard C63 reviewed by T3 uses a Sellita SW330-2; Fratello describes earlier standard C63 SW330-2 versions as caller-style GMTs. Fratello’s earlier C63 coverage concerns earlier variants, so its figures should not be carried over as current specifications.

Christopher Ward’s manual instructs the wearer to set local hour and minute time, then set the GMT hand to home time on the 24-hour bezel. Tudor’s instructions describe a reference-time hand and a setting sequence in which setting reference time also moves the conventional hour hand. Follow the instructions for the exact reference rather than relying on a broad label such as “traveller GMT.” Christopher Ward’s C63 manual · Tudor’s Black Bay GMT instructions and product information.
The C63 Sealander True GMT is a distinct model with a different movement and a substantially higher price than the standard C63. Its specifications and price are not substitutes for the standard Sealander GMT figures in this comparison. C63 True GMT coverage.

Which one makes more sense for you?
Choose the C63 if value and a slimmer profile lead
- You want to spend substantially less than the cited Tudor retail price, while checking current prices for your market and preferred configuration.
- A 39mm, 11.3mm-thick case appeals more than the Tudor’s 41mm, 14.6mm dimensions.
- The reviewed model’s 150m water resistance and minimum 50-hour reserve meet your needs, and COSC certification is not a deciding requirement.
Choose the Tudor if its specific advantages matter to you
- You value its COSC-certified manufacture movement and approximately 70-hour stated reserve.
- You prefer its larger case and want the higher stated 200m water resistance.
- You specifically want the Tudor design and brand proposition enough to accept the substantial price difference.
Those are decision criteria, not proof that either watch is more reliable, more accurate in everyday use, or better at holding value. No comparative test or market data cited here establishes those claims. Finishing, brand preference and perceived prestige are personal judgments; they cannot be settled by the specification sheet.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Verdict: is Tudor worth the premium?
The Tudor is worth paying more for if its COSC certification, longer stated reserve, 200m water resistance, larger proportions and brand appeal matter enough to you to justify the extra cost. If your priorities are a slimmer, smaller watch and a much lower cited price, the standard C63 Sealander GMT makes the more compelling value case on these specifications. The evidence supports a clear difference in price and features, not a universal winner.
