The Tudor Heritage Black Bay Chrono M79350 is the 2017, 41 mm stainless-steel chronograph, not the later M79360N. Its reference-specific record lists a 14.9 mm case, 200 m water resistance and automatic MT5813 movement with a 70-hour power reserve. Tudor’s original prices were CHF 4,500 / EUR 4,510 on leather or CHF 4,800 / EUR 4,810 on the riveted steel bracelet; those are launch prices, not current market values.

What the M79350 is

Tudor introduced the Heritage Black Bay Chrono in 2017. The 79350 reference pairs Black Bay design cues with a fixed tachymeter bezel and a domed black dial with contrasting sub-counters. It is a mechanical chronograph with a date display. GPHG’s reference record identifies the 2017 launch and model specifications; Time and Watches’ 2017 launch coverage describes its launch configurations and pricing.

The reference is sometimes written M79350, while records and listings may use 79350. Check the number on the watch and its documentation rather than treating a similar-looking later Black Bay Chrono as the same reference.

M79350 specifications

Specification Reference 79350
Launch 2017, according to GPHG’s reference record
Case Stainless steel; 41 mm diameter and 14.9 mm thick (GPHG reference record)
Movement Self-winding mechanical MT5813 chronograph; 28,800 vibrations per hour (GPHG reference record)
Power reserve 70 hours (GPHG reference record and 2017 launch coverage)
Escapement spring Silicon (GPHG movement description and 2017 launch coverage)
Certification COSC Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute certification is reported by GPHG and the 2017 launch coverage
Water resistance 200 m / 660 ft (GPHG reference record and 2017 launch coverage)
Functions Hours, minutes, seconds, date and chronograph; launch coverage specifies a 45-minute counter
Bezel and dial Fixed tachymeter bezel; domed black dial with contrasting sub-counters (2017 launch coverage)
Launch configurations Leather or riveted steel bracelet versions; an additional fabric strap was available (2017 launch coverage)

Specifications are useful for identifying the watch, but configuration can vary. Confirm the particular watch’s reference suffix, bracelet or strap, and included accessories against its documentation.

How thick is it, and what does that mean for fit?

The 79350 is listed at 14.9 mm thick by GPHG. That measurement matters if a watch’s height under a shirt cuff or its side profile is a deciding factor. The 41 mm diameter alone does not tell you how the watch will wear: wrist shape, bracelet fit and personal comfort also matter. If possible, try the exact watch on wrist or compare its dimensions with a watch you already know fits.

Do not substitute the dimensions of a newer Black Bay Chrono. Tudor’s current related M79360N page lists 14.4 mm thickness; that is a different reference and not a revised measurement for the 79350. See Tudor’s M79360N page for that later model’s specifications.

Movement and practical capability

The MT5813 is an automatic chronograph movement. The documented 70-hour power reserve means a fully wound watch can run for roughly that period off the wrist before it stops, subject to how it is used. Its 28,800-vph rate and silicon spring are listed in the GPHG reference record, which also describes the movement as COSC-certified. These are published specifications, not an independent accuracy test of an individual example.

The 200 m water-resistance rating is a substantial specification for a chronograph, but it does not establish the present condition of a pre-owned watch. Water resistance can depend on the condition of seals and the watch’s service history. For a used example intended for water exposure, ask for a recent water-resistance check rather than relying only on the original rating.

Original launch price and today’s price

Configuration or record Price What the figure represents
Leather strap CHF 4,500 / EUR 4,510 Suggested retail launch price reported by Time and Watches in 2017
Riveted steel bracelet CHF 4,800 / EUR 4,810 Suggested retail launch price reported by Time and Watches in 2017
GPHG record CHF 4,166.66 excluding VAT Price recorded by GPHG for the reference associated with its 2017 launch; excluding VAT, so not directly comparable with the launch prices above

These historical figures are not a current retail or resale estimate. The cited sources do not establish a current exact-reference asking price. A present-day listing should be judged against comparable examples in the same geography, condition and completeness, not by converting the original price into a supposed current value.

What to check when buying a pre-owned 79350

Compare like with like. Two listings can differ materially in condition, included parts and seller protections even when both are described as a Black Bay Chrono 79350.

  • Clasp type: Deployment Clasp
  • Item shape: Round

  • Reference and identity: Check the exact reference on the watch’s paperwork and confirm it is 79350, rather than a later related model.
  • Condition: Inspect case, bezel, crystal, dial, pushers and bracelet or strap for wear, damage or replacement parts.
  • Service records: Ask for dated service documentation and, if water use matters, evidence of a recent water-resistance check.
  • Completeness: Confirm which bracelet, straps, box, papers and other accessories are included. Launch configurations included leather and riveted-steel options, with an additional fabric strap described in launch coverage; do not assume every listing has all of them.
  • Seller terms: Review return rights, payment protections and any authentication process the seller actually provides. Do not infer Tudor authorization or a manufacturer warranty from a marketplace listing.
  • Price comparison: Compare listings from the same region and with similar condition and included items; account for taxes and the seller’s return terms.

Tudor’s current M79360N page says, “Five-year transferable guarantee with no registration or periodic maintenance checks required.” That statement applies to the current related model page and does not establish whether a particular older M79350 remains under warranty or whether its warranty is transferable. For an individual watch, check its dated warranty card with Tudor or an authorized retailer.

How the M79350 differs from the current related model

The M79360N is a later Black Bay Chrono family model, not a replacement specification sheet for the 79350. One clearly documented distinction is case thickness: GPHG lists the 79350 at 14.9 mm, while Tudor lists the M79360N at 14.4 mm. The current model page also lists the MT5813 movement family, approximately 70-hour reserve and 200 m water resistance; those shared headline features do not make the references interchangeable. Compare exact reference, case fit, dial and bracelet configuration, condition and documentation before deciding between them.
