Check the current local listing before buying, since this figure is specific to the US market and date. Tudor frames the pale dial as a nod to its Dakar Rally involvement, calling it “a subtle homage to TUDOR’s involvement in the world’s toughest race.” That is the brand’s design positioning, not evidence that this particular watch has been tested in rally conditions. Tudor also places the Ranger in an expedition-watch tradition and says the line preserves historical aesthetic standards while incorporating modern technical elements. How is the 36mm Ranger built?
The case is satin-finished steel, measuring 36mm across, 11mm thick and 19mm between the lugs. It has a smooth satin-brushed steel bezel and a domed sapphire crystal. These dimensions provide a useful starting point for judging proportions, but they cannot predict how the watch will feel on an individual wrist; wrist shape and preferred fit matter.

Inside is Tudor Manufacture Calibre MT5400, a self-winding movement with a bidirectional rotor and COSC certification. Tudor specifies an approximately 70-hour power reserve; its 2025 press kit also identifies a silicon balance spring. COSC certification is a movement certification, not a promise that every example will maintain a particular rate in every wearer’s conditions. Neither the product page nor the press kit establishes real-world accuracy for this model.
Tudor rates the watch to 100m (330 ft) water resistance and provides a five-year transferable guarantee, with no registration or periodic maintenance checks required, according to its published information. These are manufacturer specifications and guarantee terms; consult the current documentation and follow its care guidance for your particular watch.

How does the 36mm model compare with other Rangers?

If you are choosing between sizes, compare the listed dimensions with a watch you already find comfortable, then try the Ranger on if possible. The case measurements alone cannot settle how either size will sit on your wrist.

The white-versus-black decision is primarily a dial preference on the evidence available here. No lighting-based legibility comparison is established, so it is better to inspect both in person or in representative photographs than to assume one is easier to read.
What does “after the hype has passed” tell a buyer?
Not enough to infer lasting owner enthusiasm, reliability, real-world accuracy or resale performance. Tudor’s official pages establish the specifications and the brand’s design story, but they do not provide independent long-term wear tests, owner-satisfaction evidence or market data for M79930-0008.
