The UNIMATIC Modello Quattro UT4-GMT is a 40 mm Italian-made quartz GMT watch powered by a Swiss Ronda 515.24D movement. It combines a date display, a GMT window, a claimed 300 m water-resistance rating and a 22 mm strap fit. This is the quartz UT4-GMT—not the similarly named automatic U4-GMT.
What the UT4-GMT is—and is not
UNIMATIC describes the UT4-GMT as a “Made-in-Italy quartz GMT dive watch.” Its Swiss-made Ronda 515.24D movement provides GMT and date functions, hacking seconds and a stated accuracy of -1/+20 seconds per month. The manufacturer lists one jewel and approximately 45 months of power reserve. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent measurements. UNIMATIC’s UT4-GMT product page and its current technical specification provide the model details.
The name is easy to confuse with the U4-GMT. The UT4-GMT is quartz, with GMT and date shown in dial windows. The separate U4-GMT listing describes a limited edition of 300 watches with an automatic Seiko NH34A movement and a conventional fourth GMT hand. Those specifications do not apply to the UT4-GMT. The U4-GMT listing identifies that distinct model.

The current technical sheet gives the crystal as 2.8 mm thick. An older official sheet gives 2.5 mm, so these figures should not be combined as though they described one specification generation. The same older sheet’s different battery entry matters if you are ordering a replacement.

Dial, GMT display and everyday operation
The matte-black dial has printed Arabic numerals, a GMT window, a date window at six, a white seconds rail and international-orange accents. UNIMATIC specifies Super-LumiNova C1. Because the GMT information is presented in a window rather than on a conventional fourth hand, check that this display style suits how you expect to read a second time zone before buying.
The Ronda 515.24D is quartz, not automatic or meca-quartz. Hacking seconds means the seconds hand stops when the crown is pulled to the setting position, according to the listed movement function. The specification sheet identifies the date and GMT functions but does not provide a full setting procedure; use the watch’s supplied instructions rather than assuming a particular crown sequence.
How it fits and what strap to use
UNIMATIC specifies a 40 mm diameter, 49 mm lug-to-lug span and 12 mm case thickness without the crystal. Lug-to-lug length is a useful measurement when considering how the case may span the wrist, but the numbers alone do not establish comfort on an individual wrist. The watch has 22 mm drilled lugs and is supplied on a black, two-piece quick-release nylon strap. Its listed weight is 82 g without the strap and 97 g with it.
A replacement strap should be 22 mm wide, but width alone does not guarantee fit: confirm that the strap’s attachment hardware works with the UT4-GMT’s drilled-lug arrangement. UNIMATIC’s current product page lists optional straps; confirm their availability and compatibility on the live listing.

Water resistance and durability claims
UNIMATIC states that the UT4-GMT is water resistant to 300 m (30 atm, approximately 1,000 ft) and that each watch is individually tested. The brand also describes an in-house 360° protection system using thermoplastic polyurethane around the movement and associates the watch with MIL-STD-810H. Those are manufacturer claims: the cited product materials do not establish independent third-party certification or give a complete test protocol. The technical specification is the source for the stated construction and testing language.
Battery replacement: check the watch’s documentation
The current official technical sheet names a Seizaiken SR920SW battery and approximately 45 months of power reserve. An earlier official specification lists battery type No. 371 instead. Because the brand’s sheets differ, do not assume either reference applies to every production example: check the documentation supplied with your watch or confirm the correct cell with UNIMATIC or a watchmaker before ordering.
