RCA Victor presented it to Presley in February 1961 to mark a 75-million-record milestone. The 18K white-gold watch has a diamond-set bezel, a manual-wind Omega calibre 510 and a caseback inscription commemorating the milestone. It sold in 2018, and OMEGA and Swatch Group report that the OMEGA Museum acquired it.
What watch did Elvis Presley receive?
The Phillips catalogue identifies the watch as an Omega, reference H6582/D96043, retailed by Tiffany & Co. and signed by Tiffany on the dial. It is a singular historical piece, not a standard Omega catalogue model name. Phillips lists its diameter as 33 mm; the Elvis Presley Museum gives 32.5 mm, so approximately 33 mm is the fairest description.
Phillips describes an 18K white-gold case with a leather strap and an Omega white-gold pin buckle. The case, dial, movement and buckle are signed Omega, while the dial also bears the Tiffany & Co. signature. Its silvered ivory dial has elongated hour markers and subsidiary seconds. The bezel is set with 44 brilliant-cut diamonds. Inside is a manual-wind calibre 510 with 17 jewels; the movement carries the US import code “OXG.” Phillips’s lot record supplies the auction specifications.
What does a close examination reveal?
In a report dated February 25, 2025, Fratello’s Robert-Jan Broer described examining the watch at the OMEGA Museum in Biel. He noted marks and spots on the dial, while the applied indices and printed logos remained intact. He also described a textured small-seconds register. These are observations from his museum visit, not a current conservation report. The Phillips catalogue and the museum auction page both note that the strap was replaced, so the strap should not be treated as original.

Broer also points out that H6582/D96043 is not a conventional Omega model reference. It identifies this individual watch in the auction record; it should not be used to suggest that an ordinary retail model with the same reference is the Elvis-owned piece. Fratello’s dated close-up and account are available in its 2025 article.
How was the watch presented to Elvis?
According to Phillips, RCA Records presented the watch alongside a plaque at a charity luncheon and concert on February 25, 1961. The caseback inscription, as transcribed in the auction catalogue, reads:

- Omega Seamaster Automatic Chronometer Black Dial Men's Watch 210.30.42.20.01.001
“To Elvis
75 Million Records
RCA Victor
12-25-60”
The date engraved on the caseback is December 25, 1960; the presentation event followed in February 1961. Phillips says the occasion was proclaimed Elvis Presley Day and that the concert raised $51,612 for Memphis charities and the Elvis Presley Youth Center in Tupelo. That fundraising figure is Phillips’s catalogue account.
What is known about its manufacture and provenance?
The watch’s movement history is separate from its presentation story. Phillips says Omega confirmed that the calibre 510 movement was manufactured in 1958 and supplied to Omega’s then-US agent, Norman Morris Corporation. The American case was made by Jonell Watch Case Company in Long Island City, New York. The 1958 date is the movement’s manufacture year, not the date RCA Victor gave the watch to Presley.

Phillips says the auction lot included a Certificate of Authenticity, an Omega Extract from the Archives and a letter from the founder and CEO of the Elvis Presley Museum. The catalogue also says photographs show Presley wearing the watch at the concert. For the subsequent ownership story, Phillips attributes the account to the former owner: Presley exchanged the watch with the owner’s uncle, who admired it and was wearing a diamond-studded Hamilton. That is the auction’s provenance narrative.

Phillips records a May 2018 sale price of CHF 1,500,000. OMEGA and Swatch Group also report CHF 1,500,000 and say the OMEGA Museum acquired the watch. The OMEGA account and Swatch Group archive entry provide those reports.

- Model 212.30.44.52.01.001
The Elvis Presley Museum’s page gives a different result, “SOLD FOR CHF1,812,500,” without explaining the discrepancy. Phillips, OMEGA and Swatch Group agree on CHF 1,500,000, so that is the corroborated figure. Broer reported seeing the watch at the OMEGA Museum in Biel in February 2025; that establishes its location at the time of his visit, not whether it is on public display today. The museum’s listing is at Elvis Presley Museum.
