Vacheron Constantin’s Les Cabinotiers La Quête series brings together three one-off watches built around astronomical time: the Armillary Tourbillon – Myth of the Pleiades, Grande Complication High Jewellery – Moon Dust, and Cosmica Duo – Grand Complication. Fratello’s November 4, 2025 report describes a different focus for each: a biaxial armillary tourbillon, a double-sided 16-complication calendar watch, and a reversible 24-complication display devoted to sidereal and solar time. The specifications below are Fratello’s reporting, not independently confirmed manufacturer data.
How the three watches differ
| Watch | Reported movement and display | Case and decoration | Astronomical emphasis |

| Armillary Tourbillon – Myth of the Pleiades Ref. 9890C/000R-273C |
In-house caliber 1990; retrograde hours and minutes with a biaxial armillary tourbillon | 45 × 20.13 mm 18K rose gold; engraved, diamond-set sides and sculptural decoration | Tourbillon cages rotate on independent axes; the article says they form a Maltese cross every 15 seconds |
| Grande Complication High Jewellery – Moon Dust Ref. 9717C/000G-289C |
Hand-wound caliber 2755 GC16; 16 complications; double-sided display | 47 × 19.1 mm white gold; hand-engraved, with 184 baguette-cut and 165 brilliant-cut diamonds | Perpetual calendar and astronomical indications on the front; sidereal time and a Northern Hemisphere celestial map on the reverse |
| Cosmica Duo – Grand Complication Ref. 9780C/000G-087C |
New caliber 2756-B1; 24 complications and 1,003 movement components; reversible, two-sided design | 47 × 20.2 mm case; removable strap attachments can be secured on either side without tools | One side emphasizes sidereal time; the reverse displays true solar time and related indications |
All dimensions, movement details and counts in this comparison are reported by Fratello in 2025. The source does not establish that complication count is a measure of comparative quality; the figures instead describe the watches’ different technical ambitions.

Armillary Tourbillon – Myth of the Pleiades
A moving astronomical centerpiece
Fratello identifies reference 9890C/000R-273C as a rose-gold watch powered by in-house caliber 1990. Its retrograde hours and minutes sit alongside a biaxial armillary tourbillon beneath a sapphire dome. The article reports that the two tourbillon cages turn on independent axes and align to create a Maltese cross every 15 seconds.
The report attributes four patented mechanisms to the movement: an instantaneous retrograde system that synchronizes both hands at midnight and midday, a titanium escape-wheel collet, the tourbillon cages, and a titanium lever with diamond-coated pallets. Fratello reports 400 hours of engraving on the sculptural case decoration, which draws on the myth of the Pleiades. It also said the watch had already been purchased by the time of publication; that 2025 report does not establish present-day availability.

Grande Complication High Jewellery – Moon Dust
Calendar and sky chart on opposite sides
Moon Dust, reference 9717C/000G-289C, is reported as a unique piece with hand-wound caliber 2755 GC16 and 16 complications. Its front combines a perpetual calendar with astronomical indications, including equation of time and sunrise and sunset for a reference city. A tourbillon and minute repeater are also among its functions.
Turn the watch over to see sidereal time and a rotating celestial map of the Northern Hemisphere. A sidereal day, as explained in Fratello’s article, lasts 23 hours, 56 minutes and 4 seconds; it measures Earth’s rotation relative to distant stars rather than the Sun. Fratello reports a 47 × 19.1 mm white-gold case, hand engraving, and 184 baguette-cut plus 165 brilliant-cut diamonds. The article did not disclose a price.

Two faces for sidereal and solar time
Cosmica Duo, reference 9780C/000G-087C, is reported to use new caliber 2756-B1, with 24 complications and 1,003 components. One face displays a Northern Hemisphere sky chart, perpetual calendar and second time zone. The reverse is dedicated to true solar time, equation of time, sunrise and sunset, day and night duration, and a retrograde moon phase.
The reported 47 × 20.2 mm watch is reversible, allowing either side to face up. Fratello also describes removable strap attachments that can be moved between sides without tools, plus a crown-integrated push button for adjusting the second time zone. These are design details, not evidence that the watch will be comfortable for every wearer. The article gives no price.

What is known about rarity and availability?
Fratello presents all three as one-off Les Cabinotiers creations. Its November 4, 2025 article says Myth of the Pleiades had already been purchased, calls Moon Dust a unique piece, and does not provide prices for Moon Dust or Cosmica Duo. It does not establish current availability for any of the watches, so a present-day purchase status or price cannot be inferred from that report. Exact specifications, patent descriptions and sale status should be treated as Fratello’s reporting unless confirmed by Vacheron Constantin.
