The 42.5 mm Overseas Chronograph Everest and 41 mm Overseas Dual Time Everest were each limited to 150 pieces.
What “sequel” means in this story
For Richards’s 2019 Everest expedition, Vacheron Constantin specially developed a one-off Overseas Dual Time prototype. The brand’s 2021 release translated elements of that watch’s look into two distinct production models: a chronograph and a dual-time watch. The prototype, therefore, is not either of the limited editions discussed here. Vacheron Constantin’s Cory Richards collaboration page provides the brand’s account of the project.
The 2021 models share an expedition-inspired palette and materials, but serve different purposes. One measures elapsed time; the other displays a second time zone alongside local time.

What distinguishes the Dual Time Everest
The Dual Time is for tracking home and local time. Its orange arrow hand indicates home time, accompanied by a day/night display for that home-time zone. Local time has its own hour and minute display, while the date corresponds to local time and is adjusted by a pusher. Its 41 mm case is smaller and thinner than the Chronograph Everest’s.
What distinguishes the Chronograph Everest
The Chronograph Everest uses automatic Calibre 5200/2 to measure elapsed time. It is the larger of the pair at 42.5 mm across and 13.7 mm thick. Its 52-hour power reserve is shorter than the Dual Time’s reported 60 hours.

Shared materials and design
Both editions combine titanium and stainless steel with a grained grey dial and orange accents. Each came with quick-change Cordura fabric and rubber straps, allowing the wearer to switch the look and feel without treating the models as interchangeable watches: their complications remain different.
Edition size, launch prices, and availability
Vacheron Constantin made 150 examples of each model. WATCHPRO USA reported 2021 US launch prices of $37,000 for the Chronograph and $31,300 for the Dual Time. Contemporary launch coverage described boutique distribution, including La Cote des Montres’ September 22, 2021 report. Those are historical launch details; the cited coverage does not establish whether either reference is currently in stock or what it may sell for today. Why the project mattered to Richards
Richards connected the watch to the experiences behind his climbing and photography. In WATCHPRO USA’s 2021 launch report, he said: “Wearing an Overseas “Everest”, I’m reminded of everything from my childhood and everything that brought me to this moment in time … the trials, the seemingly endless learning through trial and error. The failures balanced against the successes. I’m actually emotional when I stop and contemplate what this watch actually says about my life and what it can mean to others who wear it. To share such an enormous piece of me condensed into something so refined and beautiful is a humbling honor beyond the words I have,” Mr Richards says.
