A Classic reinterpreted for The Limited Edition’s anniversary
The Reality of Time was developed by watchmaker Vianney Halter in collaboration with Pietro Tomajer and Amr Sindi of The Horophile for the 10th anniversary of The Limited Edition. Monochrome Watches describes the watch as a return of Halter’s Classic in modernized form: the case and dial presentation take cues from the more restrained, structured Metropolis series, while rivets recall the industrial detailing of the Classics. This is a design relationship, not a claim that the new watch reproduces an earlier model exactly.

The watch’s name is reinforced by an engraving on its “mysterious” sapphire winding mass. Monochrome attributes the words to philosopher Gaston Bachelard: “Le temps n’a qu’une réalité, celle de l’instant,” translated as “Time has only one reality, that of the moment.”
Case, dimensions and water resistance
According to Monochrome Watches’ September 19, 2025 introduction, the case is matte titanium, accented by polished 18k rose-gold rivets. It measures 39 mm across and 8.2 mm thick; including the domed sapphire crystal, the overall thickness is 11.85 mm. The stated water resistance is 30 m.

The slim case profile and compact diameter give the design a relatively restrained footprint, while the contrast between matte titanium and polished gold rivets makes the industrial details conspicuous. The 30 m water-resistance rating is a specification, not an indication that the watch is intended for swimming or other water activity.
VH122 automatic movement
The announced calibre is Halter’s VH122, an automatic movement with 30 jewels, a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour and a stated power reserve of 56 hours. These specifications are reported by Monochrome Watches for this release.

Edition size, announced price and availability
Monochrome reported an edition of 20 watches, exclusive availability through The Limited Edition, and a price of CHF 79,000 before taxes.
