The Vicenterra AstroLUNA T1 Aventurine is a 43.5 mm limited-edition mechanical watch built around moving celestial displays. Its dark aventurine-glass dial, rotating Earth and Moon, and specially developed module make it an unusually theatrical way to show time; the Earth globe, however, is better treated as an expressive display than as a quick, precise GMT readout.
What is the AstroLUNA T1 Aventurine?
The AstroLUNA T1 Aventurine is reference VT.154.01.21, the larger T1 design in Vicenterra’s AstroLUNA family. Vicenterra’s 2024 catalogue lists the edition at 99 pieces. Phillips documented example 99/99 in a 2023 auction listing, dating that watch to circa 2022. Vicenterra’s catalogue and Phillips’ listing identify the edition and example.
It is distinct from the AstroLUNA Classic T1 Aventurine, reference VT.254.01.21. Monochrome describes the Classic as 41.5 mm across, compared with 43.5 mm for this T1. That difference matters on the wrist: the reviewed watch is a large, display-forward piece, not the smaller Classic in a different dial finish.
How the dial and celestial displays work
Time, date and aventurine backdrop
The primary dial shows hours and minutes and includes a date aperture. Dark blue aventurine glass forms a glittering, star-like background. Vicenterra describes the look this way in its AstroLUNA catalogue: “These two celestial bodies are enhanced by a starry galaxy in aventurine glass set in the background.” The effect puts the time display in a cosmic scene rather than on a conventional flat dial.
#1 Best Overall
- This is a precision panoramic large aperture moon phase automatic mechanical watch crafted from blue aventurine, the material that most closely resembles the starry night sky, designed by Swiss chief designer Etienne Ruffieux, inspired by the sun, moon, and stars. The intricately carved luminous moon changes once daily, fully showcasing the entire cycle of nature's waxing and waning phases. This watch has been awarded the European Design Award for its outstanding original design.
- In-house CAL.A4610 fully automatic mechanical movement, bidirectional automatic winding system, 28,880 vibrations per hour, 27 ruby bearings. Exquisite perlage and geneva stripes finishing, edge chamfering process, white gold plating, and engraved gold-plated brand logo. Delivers an extended 80-hour power reserve (twice that of standard mechanical movements). This technology enables a more even and gradual release of the mainspring, resulting in more precise and stable timekeeping.
- The moon phase disc in Agelocer's in-house CAL.A4610 automatic mechanical movement features a precision 31-tooth structure. It advances one segment every 22.846 hours, completing a full cycle every 29.51 days to achieve a 708.23-hour lunar cycle. (Conventional moon phase discs use a 59-tooth gear, advancing one notch every 24 hours to complete a full cycle in 29.5 days, resulting in a 708-hour lunar cycle.)
- The astronomical lunar cycle is 29.53 days (708.72 hours), meaning conventional moon phases accumulate a one-day error every 2.7 years. The Agelocer moon phase watch accumulates one day of error every 4.1 years, offering greater precision than traditional 59-tooth moon phase mechanisms.
- The dial is made of natural blue aventurine from Brazil. Its deep blue or violet-blue color from scaly vivianite contained within quartz crystals during geological formation. It shimmers with a beautiful, soft glow, like sky full of stars, make it most star-like natural dial material available today. In this panoramic large moon phase watch, as the dynamic moon perfectly glides across the starry surface of the blue aventurine dial, it feels as if the cosmic starry sky is right before your eyes.
Rotating Earth globe
A three-dimensional titanium Earth globe occupies the lower part of the dial. Its rotation is intended to suggest day and night as well as geographic orientation, with a small golden Sun marking the globe’s zenith. The continents, oceans and seas are hand-painted, according to Vicenterra. Monochrome’s hands-on assessment cautions that the globe is more poetic than useful for precise GMT reading. It is an engaging visual reference to the planet’s rotation, but not a substitute for a conventional second-time-zone hand when a wearer needs a fast, unambiguous time-zone check.
Moon sphere and phase indication
A separate three-dimensional Moon sphere also rotates; its surface has a luminescent treatment, per the catalogue. The display combines the sphere with a moon-phase indication. Vicenterra states that the phase display is accurate for 126 years. That is the brand’s stated figure, not an independently verified measurement reported by the cited sources.

Case, dimensions and wearing considerations
The polished Grade 5 titanium case measures 43.5 mm in diameter and 13.5 mm thick. Monochrome reports a 51.64 mm lug-to-lug length, a crown at 2 o’clock, a box-shaped sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides, a sapphire display back and 50 m water resistance. These are published specifications from the brand catalogue and the independent hands-on article, not results from laboratory testing.
Those dimensions, together with the raised crystal and prominent moving displays, give the T1 a substantial presence. Anyone considering it should assess the full 51.64 mm lug-to-lug span and the display’s visual complexity against their own wrist and legibility priorities; diameter alone does not capture how a watch of this shape will wear.

Movement: Vaucher base with a Vicenterra module
The architecture pairs a Vaucher Manufacture Fleurier automatic base with an additional module developed by Vicenterra. Monochrome identifies the base as the Fleurier Seed 3000, with 28 jewels and a published 50-hour power reserve; it describes the Vicenterra module as comprising 109 components and 10 jewels. Phillips also identifies an automatic calibre 3000 with 28 jewels. The sources therefore support describing this as a Vaucher base plus a purpose-built Vicenterra module—not as an entirely in-house movement.
The division reflects the watch’s character: the base handles timekeeping, while the added mechanism enables the unusual Earth and Moon displays. The published reserve figure belongs to the base movement specification cited by Monochrome; the sources do not provide an independent reserve test for a complete watch.

Price and availability: keep the figures in context
Reported prices vary by date and transaction type, so they are not interchangeable quotes. Monochrome reported a launch-era price of CHF 18,250 excluding taxes in December 2023. Watchmakers United displayed CHF 20,740 on its product page on 7 October 2026; that retailer listing can change and is not confirmation of Vicenterra’s current official price. Phillips recorded HK$82,550 for one example in a 2023 Hong Kong auction, a result for a particular watch rather than a current retail valuation.
Before pursuing a purchase, confirm directly with the seller whether a watch is actually in stock, whether the seller is authorized, the applicable geography and taxes, and the current price. The cited sources do not establish present stock, authorized-seller status or Amazon availability.

Who is the T1 Aventurine for?
The T1 Aventurine is most compelling for someone who values mechanical display and a strong visual concept over conventional simplicity. Its starry aventurine backdrop, hand-painted Earth and rotating Moon make the dial the point of the watch. Its trade-offs are equally clear: the case is large, the displays add visual activity, and the Earth globe is not the most practical way to read a second time zone.
The smaller Classic T1 may be the more relevant comparison for someone focused on case size, but the available specifications do not support ranking the two models overall. Choose based on whether the larger T1’s wrist presence and moving celestial scene are the attraction—or whether straightforward legibility and a compact case matter more.
