An Omega 30T2 in a Dennison sterling-silver case is a documented vintage configuration, but the details matter: the best-documented example pairs a movement dated to 1939 with a Birmingham case hallmark pointing to 1941. Its case reference is 13322. That identifies the reported watch—not every 30T2 in silver, or any individual watch whose markings have not been checked.
What is the Dennison Omega 30T2?
The documented example covered by Fratello combines Omega’s hand-wound 30T2 movement with a sterling-silver case made by the Dennison Watch Case Company in Birmingham, England. The case reference is 13322. A separate dealer listing describes another 30T2 in a Dennison silver case, but neither account establishes the production history of every such combination.
Fratello reports that its 13322 example measures about 33.5 mm across, 41 mm lug-to-lug and 8.9 mm thick. It has a snap-on case back and fixed spring bars; the article notes that other 13322 cases may have drilled lugs. A separate dealer listing gives a 33.2 mm diameter for its own 1941 watch. These are measurements of particular watches, not guaranteed dimensions for every example.
What does the 30T2 movement offer?
In the documented small-seconds configuration, the 30T2 is a manual-wind movement with small seconds at six o’clock. Fratello reports a 30 mm movement diameter, 15 jewels, a frequency of 18,000 vibrations per hour and approximately 44 hours of power reserve for its example. These specifications should not be generalized to every movement in Omega’s broader 30 mm family.

The family continued for more than 25 years under later three-digit caliber references and included center-seconds, small-seconds and chronometer versions, according to Fratello. The secondary Ottuhr technical guide distinguishes the small-seconds 30T2 from the central-seconds 30T2 SC and lists 13322 among sterling-silver case references. Check the marking on the movement rather than assuming that every related caliber has the same layout or specifications.
Why can the movement date differ from the case date?
The movement and case are separate components, and their identifying marks answer different questions. In Fratello’s 13322 example, the movement serial is interpreted as dating to 1939, while Birmingham assay marks inside the case back point to 1941. A second dealer listing also describes a 30T2/Dennison silver watch with Birmingham 1941 hallmarks and .925 silver. A two-year difference in the reported example is not, by itself, proof of a problem; the marks need to be assessed on the actual watch.

When examining a candidate, keep the evidence distinct:
- Movement caliber and serial: record the caliber marking and serial, and assess their consistency together.
- Case reference and maker marks: inspect the inside of the case back for the reference and Dennison identification.
- Assay marks: look for the silver standard and location/date marks. The cited examples report .925 silver and Birmingham marks.
Photographs or seller descriptions can help with an initial comparison, but they cannot replace inspection of the watch itself.

Is a silver-cased 30T2 original, and how rare is it?
The reported 13322 example and the separate dealer listing show that Omega 30T2 watches in Dennison sterling-silver cases exist. They do not establish that a particular watch is original, correctly assembled, or all-original. Fratello describes silver examples as rarely encountered, while also noting that production totals and surviving examples are unknown. The author’s account of seeing only a handful is anecdotal, not a census, so no defensible count can be given.
The case reference 13322 was used for decades and across brands, according to Fratello. A matching reference alone therefore does not prove that a particular case and movement originally belonged together. OMEGA announced a vintage Certificate of Authenticity offering in its October 14, 2019 press-room notice. That establishes the existence of the offering, not that any watch discussed here has been inspected or certified.

What should you check before buying one?
Compare the watch as a group of components and condition indicators, rather than relying on the model name or a single hallmark.
- Movement caliber and serial, including whether the movement configuration matches the description.
- Case reference, Dennison maker marks and silver hallmarks inside the case back.
- Dial and hands for originality and condition.
- Case wear, polishing or dents.
- Service history and the seller’s supporting documentation.
- Whether the movement and case appear consistent with one another.
None of these checks, taken from a listing alone, establishes that a watch is authentic, unpolished, accurately running or recently serviced. Ask for clear photographs of the movement, inside case back and hallmarks, and seek an assessment from a qualified watch professional if the evidence is incomplete or a purchase decision depends on it.

What strap fits a Dennison 13322?
Do not order by reference alone. Fratello’s example is worn on an 18 mm strap, but its case has fixed spring bars. Confirm the actual strap width and whether the watch’s bars are fixed before buying: fixed bars require a strap that can be fitted without removing the bars, while a conventional strap installation may not work. Other cases bearing the same reference may differ.
Care and service for a vintage 30T2
A snap-back vintage watch should not be assumed to be water-resistant. Nor does a movement’s reputation establish the accuracy or service needs of an individual watch. Fratello says its own example ran but was due for service; that observation applies to that watch only.
OMEGA’s general user manual says servicing frequency depends on the model, climate and care, and gives a general interval of five to eight years depending on conditions of use. It recommends contacting an authorised OMEGA service centre or boutique. This is general guidance, not a 30T2-specific service schedule; the condition and use of the individual watch should guide service decisions.
