What the 2022 Cricket reissue includes
Hodinkee’s September 15, 2022 launch report describes the Classic and Tradition as versions of the President’s Heritage Cricket. Each was offered in 36 mm and 39 mm sizes. The configurations below are launch-era options, not a guarantee of Vulcain’s current catalog.

Cricket Classic
The Classic has painted indices containing faux-aged luminous material and alpha hands filled with lume. Its dial options included black versions with blue accents or khaki-colored numerals, as well as brown. The look is the more overtly vintage of the pair.
Cricket Tradition
The Tradition uses applied markers that alternate arrow shapes and Arabic numerals, paired with dauphine hands. Hodinkee listed eggshell and black dial options. Its design draws on Vulcain’s 1950s visual vocabulary while using more dimensional markers than the Classic.

Limited salmon dials
Hodinkee reported a salmon dial limited to 50 pieces per model. That is a launch-era edition detail; it does not establish present-day availability.

Movement and alarm operation
Both models use Vulcain’s hand-wound V-10 caliber, with hours, minutes, central seconds and a mechanical alarm. Hodinkee reported a 42-hour power reserve, a frequency of 18,000 vibrations per hour and 25 jewels.
According to Hodinkee’s reviewer, the alarm is set by winding the watch backward, and its sound is amplified by the interior caseback. The reviewer also reported hearing a rattle when moving or shaking the watch; that is an observation from the review, not a general diagnostic or a claim about every example.
Case and other reported specifications
Hodinkee’s launch specification summary lists a stainless-steel case, sapphire crystal, leather strap and 50 m water resistance. These are the reported specifications for the 2022 reissue; check the exact reference before relying on them for a particular listing.
What the launch prices do—and do not—tell you
Hodinkee reported September 2022 launch prices of $3,600 for the 36 mm size and $3,900 for the 39 mm size, with pre-orders then slated for December delivery. These are historical launch figures, not current quotes or evidence of current stock. The launch report does not establish the present price or availability of a specific Classic or Tradition reference.
A later and separate watch is the 36 mm Vulcain × Seconde/Seconde/ × Revolution Cricket Tradition “Vulcain Salute.” Revolution’s product page, accessed in 2026, listed it at $4,150 USD, marked it sold out, and described a 25-piece-per-colorway limited run. Those details apply to that collaboration, not the 2022 standard reissue.
Which version fits your preference?
- Choose the Classic if you prefer painted, lume-filled indices and alpha hands for a more visibly vintage effect.
- Choose the Tradition if you prefer applied arrow and numeral markers with dauphine hands.
- Compare the case sizes in person if possible. Both families were offered in 36 mm and 39 mm; the launch report does not establish which size will suit a particular wrist.
- Check the exact dial and reference. The launch palette varied by model, and limited salmon editions should not be confused with regular configurations.
- Verify any live listing directly. The historical launch report and the later collaboration listing do not establish current stock or a current price for the standard reissue.
How to distinguish the reissue from later Cricket releases
“Cricket” appears in later Vulcain releases and collaborations, but the Classic and Tradition discussed here are the two versions in the 2022 President’s Heritage revival. A listing for another Cricket should not be treated as the same watch solely because it shares the name; compare its reference, case size, dial and edition description.
