What is the Watchfinder x MAEN Skymaster 38 MKIII?
It is a collaboration between watch retailer Watchfinder & Co. and watch brand MAEN, based on the Skymaster 38 MKIII. MAEN says its design draws on 1960s and 1970s chronographs, with a vintage tropical dial color treatment. The edition is individually numbered: its number appears engraved on the caseback and on a certificate of authenticity. It was presented in a special box with a leather watch roll. Watchfinder’s October 2023 article describes the concept as Heidi Merrony’s effort to make an exotic-dial look more accessible. In that article, Merrony wrote: “I wanted to change that. So, I did.” Watchfinder’s original article

These collaboration specifications are listed on MAEN’s product page; Watchfinder’s October 2023 article also identifies a 38 mm case, 13.4 mm thickness, 100 m water resistance and a hand-wound Sellita SW510 Mb.

What did it cost, and when was it available?

The cited sources do not confirm current stock or active listings for the limited edition. Because its announced preorder period ended in 2023, a buyer looking for this exact numbered collaboration may need to check the secondary market, but no present listing or resale value is established here.

How it differs from regular Skymaster 38 MKIII models
The collaboration’s defining distinctions are its tropical dial, numbered limited-edition presentation and supplied brown Tropic strap. MAEN’s current collection page describes the regular Skymaster 38 MKIII range, including a tachymeter-bezel option, but those range details should not automatically be attributed to this collaboration. MAEN’s collection page lists regular models with a 38 mm case, 13.4 mm thickness, 47 mm lug-to-lug, 10 ATM water resistance and a manual Sellita SW510Mb. It additionally gives 23 jewels, a 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour) frequency and an approximate 56–62 hour power reserve for the regular line. The collaboration page does not confirm those latter movement details for its edition, so they should not be treated as collaboration specifications.

MAEN’s current pages also show regular Skymaster products and accessories, but their availability does not establish availability of the limited collaboration. Nor do the cited pages confirm that current MAEN straps or bracelets fit it; check compatibility with MAEN or the seller before ordering an accessory.
