An AirTag 2 is not required for the app, but it is one of the supported item types Apple identifies for Precision Finding. Availability and the exact locating experience can depend on the accessory, paired iPhone, language, and region.
2. Wallet passes can be created and shown from Apple Watch
watchOS 27 also makes Apple Wallet more useful for everyday cards and barcodes. Users will be able to create or add passes from physical cards or digital barcodes, then present those passes from an iPhone or Apple Watch. Passes can also be pinned to the Apple Watch Smart Stack, making them easier to reach without manually opening Wallet and searching through every card.
Potential uses include loyalty cards, event tickets, travel passes, and hotel-related passes. The practical benefit is speed: a barcode or ticket can be available from the wrist instead of requiring the phone to be pulled out at a checkout counter, gate, or venue entrance.
This is not a promise that every physical card will work automatically. Pass creation and presentation depend on the card format, participating business, country, partner support, and compatible hardware. Bonus feature: Siri AI is coming, but it is not ready to treat as final
Siri is expected to gain more capable AI features on Apple Watch. The reported implementation includes access to ongoing conversations, answers informed by personal data, web searches, and actions within apps. In principle, that could let the watch handle more natural requests instead of limiting Siri to short commands and fixed responses.
There are two important qualifications. First, the reported watch implementation depends on a connected iPhone that supports Apple Intelligence; MacRumors identifies iPhone 15 Pro or later as the relevant threshold in the implementation it reported. The watch therefore may not provide the full experience independently of the phone.
Second, Siri AI was not present in the watchOS 27 beta examined in the June 18 hands-on report. It should be described as announced or coming, not as a finished feature that has already been independently tested on the final release. What about Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4?
Rumors about new hardware should not be confused with the watchOS 27 announcement.
