The update pairs the moonphase and date at six o’clock and gives the movement a 72-hour power reserve. Here’s what changed, using the green-dial steel reference FC-716GR3H6 as the clearest example of the listed dimensions.
What changed in the 2024 update?
Frédérique Constant announced the revised Classic Moonphase Date Manufacture on April 9, 2024. The launch introduced three steel versions with silver, blue or green dials, all in 40 mm cases. The brand described the dial as a cleaner sunburst design, with the date and moonphase brought together in one display at six o’clock. Frédérique Constant’s launch announcement covers the trio and its design changes.
The available launch information concerns that steel trio. It does not establish a complete comparison with later releases or precious-metal versions.
What movement is inside?
The watch uses the FC-716, an in-house automatic calibre. Frédérique Constant specifies a 72-hour power reserve and a 4 Hz operating frequency; its calibre listing identifies hours, minutes, seconds, moonphase and date as the functions. The 2024 launch announcement attributes the three-day reserve to a new barrel and describes revised fan-shaped Côtes de Genève decoration, visible through the display back. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent performance-test results. The official FC-716 calibre listing provides the movement details.

Case, dimensions and wear
The steel case is rated to 50 m water resistance, expressed on the US product page as 50 m/5 bar. That is the manufacturer’s rating; it is not an independent test or a guarantee of suitability for every water activity. The official US listing for the green-dial FC-716GR3H6 gives these reference-specific details:
- Case diameter: 40 mm
- Case thickness: 11.78 mm
- Lug width: 20 mm
- Crystal: sapphire
- Strap: green alligator
- Buckle: folding
The launch announcement describes the three steel models as carrying a five-year warranty. Check the applicable warranty terms for the region and purchase before relying on coverage details.

What does it cost, and which versions are documented?
Frédérique Constant’s US launch and product pages list the green steel model at $4,995. That is the manufacturer-listed US price shown on those pages, not a universal price or a promise of current availability; prices and stock can change. The launch announcement establishes the steel dial choices as silver, blue and green, while the product page identifies the green version as reference FC-716GR3H6. The available official information does not establish a full cross-market comparison of references, straps and prices, so confirm the exact configuration and local price with the seller.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How to read the update
The most substantive change is the FC-716: a new in-house calibre with a three-day reserve, paired with a refreshed dial layout that groups date and moonphase at six. The case remains a 40 mm steel format across the 2024 trio. The published specifications answer what changed on paper, but they do not establish comparative accuracy, long-term reliability or hands-on comfort.
