YEMA’s Morteau Manufacture is where the company says it designs its mechanical calibers, makes their mainplates and bridges, and carries out movement assembly, regulation, testing, and inspection. It is not a claim that every component is produced in one building or in France alone: YEMA describes a supplier network across France and Switzerland within 72 km of Morteau.
What YEMA means by “Manufacture”
YEMA dates its founding to 1948 and says the Morteau-based group Ambre France took over the company in 2009. Its official history records the development of the MBP1000 before the newer CMM family. YEMA says the MBP1000 took four years and €3 million to develop, and that more than 250,000 were produced; those are company-reported figures. See YEMA’s company history.
For the current Manufacture process, YEMA says its engineers and master watchmakers conceive calibers, design components in CAD, prototype and machine parts, then assemble, adjust, test, and inspect movements in its workshops. Its process description includes power-reserve testing and final aesthetic inspection. YEMA also describes an electromechanical transfer line used alongside watchmaker work during assembly. These statements describe the company’s stated process, not an independent audit of production or performance. Details appear on Inside The YEMA Manufacture.
The company locates its workshops in Morteau, near the Swiss watchmaking region. It says movement components come from France and Switzerland within a 72 km radius, while bridges and mainplates are made in its Morteau workshops and final assembly takes place there. On the CMM.20 page, YEMA lists movement design as Switzerland, components as France and Switzerland, and assemblies as France. That breakdown is why “made entirely in France” would overstate what the company says.

How the CMM.10, CMM.20, and CMM.30 differ
The CMM family spans a conventional self-winding three-hand movement, a thinner automatic with a tungsten micro-rotor, and a hand-wound tourbillon with a tidal-cycle complication. The following figures are YEMA’s published specifications on its official caliber pages; they have not been independently verified here.

CMM.10: an automatic three-hand caliber
The CMM.10 is the straightforward everyday architecture in this group: an automatic movement with a bidirectional oscillating weight and three-hand display. Its published 70-hour reserve and −3/+5 seconds-per-day accuracy are manufacturer specifications, not a third-party test result.

CMM.20: automatic winding with a micro-rotor
The CMM.20 replaces the more prominent winding weight with a bidirectional tungsten micro-rotor. YEMA lists a 3.70 mm movement thickness, making reduced movement height a defining architectural distinction from the CMM.10. YEMA’s history page dates its release to 2023 and calls it the company’s first Manufacture caliber; its description of it as the first French micro-rotor movement is YEMA’s historical claim, not an independently established industry distinction. CMM.30: hand-wound tourbillon with tidal-cycle display
The CMM.30 is the family’s high-complication option. It is hand-wound rather than automatic and combines a tourbillon with a tidal-cycle, or lunar-time, complication. YEMA lists a 105-hour reserve and says the movement is adjusted in six positions. Its stated shock and acceleration resistance—up to 5,000 G—is also a manufacturer claim, not a result independently tested for this article.

What the published figures do—and do not—tell you
YEMA’s caliber pages provide explicit numerical accuracy ranges, but they do not establish independent test results or chronometer certification. The company uses “chronometric” or “near chronometric” language in descriptive copy; the numerical specifications above are the clearer basis for comparison. A stated rate range is not a guarantee that a particular watch will run at that rate in every wearing condition.
For a buyer comparing movements, the most concrete differences in the published data are winding method, complication, size or thickness where stated, and power reserve. Choose among those characteristics based on the watch and how you intend to use it; the specifications alone do not establish comparative real-world accuracy or durability.

Where to check the company’s current terms
YEMA’s manufacture page says that timepieces equipped with a mechanical YEMA Manufacture movement receive an extended five-year international warranty. Warranty terms can depend on the specific watch and current policy, so check the product’s own warranty information before relying on that general statement.
