Why an average won’t tell you your ring size

How to measure for a ring
- Measure the intended finger on the intended hand. Use a ring sizer or follow a measurement chart for the ring you plan to wear.

- Check the knuckle as well as the base of the finger. If the knuckle is substantially larger, choose a fit that can pass over it comfortably while remaining secure at the base.

- Consider band width. The cited jeweler guides suggest that a wide band may call for a larger size. Treat this as a rule of thumb, not a universal adjustment; check the ring maker’s guidance.
- Ask a jeweler to confirm the fit when accuracy matters. Fred Meyer Jewelers identifies professional sizing as its most accurate method.
