Its mirror-polished dial, bright USM palette accents and purpose-made USM Haller furniture piece set it apart from the brands’ 2025 retail collaboration. Phillips New York is scheduled to auction the lot on December 5, 2026; the sale has not yet taken place.
What makes the TimeForArt watch unique?
The defining change is a fully mirror-polished dial designed to reflect its surroundings. Three overlapping azuré chronograph counters bring in USM colors—Golden Yellow, Pure Orange, Green and Gentian Blue. The central chronograph-seconds hand is Gentian Blue and ends in a miniature USM Haller ball joint.

The collaboration retains the compact 37 mm stainless-steel case, octagonal geometry, fourteen-sided bezel and steel ladder bracelet of the earlier DEFY Chronograph USM. ZENITH lists the one-off reference as 03.A780.400-T/01.M3642; TimeForArt identifies it as case number 689 591. ZENITH’s announcement and the TimeForArt catalogue provide the official design and lot details.
Movement and functions
According to the maker and event catalogue, the watch uses an automatic El Primero 400 high-frequency column-wheel chronograph movement. Its stated frequency is 36,000 vibrations per hour (5 Hz), with a 55-hour power reserve. Functions include central hours and minutes, small seconds at 9 o’clock, a central chronograph hand, a 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock, a 12-hour counter at 6 o’clock and a date at 4:30. The stated water resistance is 10 ATM. These are published specifications, not independent performance-test results.

A one-off furniture companion
The auction lot also includes a USM Haller furniture piece made for the project. ZENITH describes it as a mirrored sideboard with integrated storage designed to hold up to 24 watches, plus a lockable compartment. The watch and furniture are presented together as a unique lot.
When is the TimeForArt 2026 auction?
ZENITH schedules the sale for December 5, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. EST at Phillips New York. Because the auction is in the future, no realized price or result is available yet. Check the official ZENITH announcement and TimeForArt lot listing for current sale information as the date approaches.
ZENITH says 100% of the proceeds, including Phillips’ Buyer’s Premium, will benefit Swiss Institute. The stated purpose is to support the institute’s exhibitions, public programs, education initiatives and community engagement.

The 2025 collaboration was a 60-piece retail edition with a Gentian Blue dial and a custom USM Haller chest. The TimeForArt watch is a separate one-off: it has the mirror-polished, multicolor dial and a project-specific mirrored sideboard designed for up to 24 watches. The two editions also have different routes to availability: the 60-piece model was offered through retail, while this unique watch and its furniture are being sold together at auction.

ZENITH and USM frame the collaboration around two points in their design histories: USM patented its Haller modular system in 1965, while ZENITH introduced the original DEFY and El Primero in 1969. That shared-history framing comes from the brands; the auction watch expresses it through the familiar DEFY case and bracelet alongside USM’s modular-furniture details, including the ball-joint motif on the chronograph hand.
