If your local Rolex boutique says registration is closed, ask what the closure covers, when to check back, and whether it can point you to another Official Rolex Retailer. Rolex says retailers independently manage watch allocation and sales; its public guidance does not promise a central waiting list, a reopening date, a transferable registration, or an offer.
Find out exactly what “closed” means
Start by asking the boutique about the specific watch you want. Rolex’s guidance is that Official Rolex Retailers can provide information about availability; the practical next step is to speak with the retailer, since Rolex says retailers independently manage allocation and sales.

- Give the exact reference, if you know it, or describe the model and configuration.
- Ask whether registration is closed for that watch only or for all models.
- Ask when the boutique recommends checking again, and whether it has another option to suggest.
These are useful questions to ask, not steps in a Rolex-prescribed registration process. Rolex does not publish a universal reopening date, queue order, wait time, or obligation for a retailer to keep a request open. Availability for some models can be limited when demand exceeds production capacity. Rolex’s FAQ explains that retailers receive regular deliveries and independently manage allocation and sales.
Contact other Official Rolex Retailers
You can contact other Official Rolex Retailers in your region and ask about availability for the watch you want. Use the official retailer locator to find locations, then contact each retailer directly. Rolex says new watches are sold exclusively through Official Rolex Retailers. A different retailer may have different availability or policies, but do not assume it will accept your request or transfer a registration from the first boutique.

The Rolex Certified Pre-Owned programme is an official route for previously worn watches, sold through Official Rolex Retailers. It is distinct from buying a new watch, so confirm that the retailer participates and has a watch that suits you.

Rolex’s public information does not establish wait times, odds of receiving an offer, allocation quantities, or whether any particular retailer will reopen registration. It also does not support the idea that unrelated purchases improve your chances. Ask retailers directly about their own policies and current availability, and do not treat an unofficial seller as equivalent to an Official Rolex Retailer.

If no route works for you now, you can check back with the boutique when it recommends or broaden your search to other Official Rolex Retailers. Neither step guarantees an offer or a particular timeline.
