Time+Tide reported that Hubert Hurkacz wore a Gerald Charles GC Sport at the 2022 French Open, paired with a red vulcanized-rubber strap. Gerald Charles’s standard royal-blue model is reference GC2.0-TX-TN-01, but the available reporting does not establish that exact reference as the watch on Hurkacz’s wrist.
What watch did Hurkacz wear?
Time+Tide identified Hurkacz’s watch as a Gerald Charles GC Sport in its June 4, 2022 report. The publication described the watch as having a factory-made red vulcanized-rubber strap. That strap color is part of Time+Tide’s report; Gerald Charles’s current product page presents the standard royal-blue configuration instead.

What is the Gerald Charles Maestro GC Sport?
The GC Sport is Gerald Charles’s tennis-oriented version of its Maestro design, recognized by an asymmetric case. The manufacturer’s royal-blue model is reference GC2.0-TX-TN-01. Its product page lists a polished Grade 5 titanium case measuring 39 mm wide, 41.7 mm long and 8.7 mm thick. The shape is designed to give the watch a distinctive profile while keeping the listed thickness relatively slim.
The dial is royal-blue sunburst, with applied Arabic numerals at 3, 9 and 12 and luminous hands and indices. A date display sits at six o’clock. The matching HNBR vulcanized-rubber strap has Clous de Paris decoration on one side and the Gerald Charles logo motif on the reverse.

Why does the GC Sport have a left-side crown?
The GC Sport’s screw-down crown is on the left side of the case. Gerald Charles says the placement is intended to prevent the crown from rubbing against a player’s wrist during play. The brand says it worked with three ATP Tour players during 2021 to develop the watch; its 2024 press release describes the model as tested and approved by professional athletes but does not name those three players.
Gerald Charles also says the movement was specially adapted to be up to 40% more resistant to shocks and stresses from high-impact movement. That figure is the manufacturer’s claim, not an independently verified comparative result established by the cited sources.
