Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark wears a URWERK UR-110 RG in Spider-Man: Homecoming. The specific screen-associated watch is catalogued as reference UR-110 RG—not just an unspecified UR-110.
Which URWERK watch appears in Spider-Man: Homecoming?
Phillips identifies Downey Jr.’s watch as a pink-gold URWERK UR-110 RG, reference UR-110 RG, and associates it with his role as Tony Stark/Iron Man. Downey Jr. personally identified the model as a fit for Stark, according to the auction catalogue. Sony Pictures describes Stark as Peter Parker’s reluctant mentor in the film.
That identification matters because URWERK made several UR-110 versions. The film-provenance record is specifically for the RG variant; it should not be conflated with the Eastwood, PT, PTH, or steel versions listed by the maker. Phillips’ catalogue entry and URWERK’s model page distinguish the reference and its broader family.
How does the UR-110 display time?
The UR-110 uses a satellite display: hour modules travel on planetary gearing, and the time is read on the right side of the dial. Rather than placing conventional hands at the center, the moving hour display makes the watch’s mechanics part of its visual character.

On the dial-side Control Board, URWERK lists Day/Night and Oil Change indicators alongside small seconds. The maker describes the design as “The beauty of the UR-110 is in its apparent simplicity. We imagined time as a ‘silent journey’. There are things happening on the dial that are not obvious at first glance. Everything looks normal; however, they are everything but.”
UR-110 specifications and the RG distinction
URWERK’s historical model page gives the following specifications for the UR-110. These are model-level figures and should not be taken to mean every edition has the same case material or finish.

The RG in UR-110 RG identifies the pink-gold version catalogued in the film-provenance record. For another UR-110, check its precise reference and case or bezel material rather than assuming the RG example’s finish applies to the entire collection. URWERK’s UR-110 page lists historical variants.
What did the screen-associated watch sell for?
At the 2018 Geneva Watch Auction: SEVEN, Phillips recorded a realized price of CHF 150,000 for the UR-110 RG. That is a dated auction result, not a current valuation, an asking price, or evidence that this particular watch is available for sale today. See the Phillips lot record and its auction article for the provenance context.

Why Tony Stark’s watch suits the film
Spider-Man: Homecoming follows Peter Parker as he works out what kind of hero he wants to become, with Stark serving as a reluctant mentor. The UR-110’s unconventional satellite display gives Stark a watch that feels engineered and unusual without relying on a conventional central-hand layout. That is a design fit, rather than a claim that the film explains the watch’s technical features. Sony Pictures’ official film page identifies Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man.
