How does the Black Unity Sport Loop change color?
Apple says the band’s raised and recessed custom-woven loops create a lenticular effect. Green is visible on one side of a loop and red on the other; as the wrist moves, the visible color appears to shift, with yellow showing during the transition. The band itself does not light up or change electronically. Apple described the effect in its 27 January 2025 announcement.
What sizes and Apple Watch models fit?
Apple’s 2025 UK launch announcement offered the Sport Loop in 42 mm and 46 mm sizes and listed compatibility with Apple Watch Series 4 or later and Apple Watch SE. Apple also said the 46 mm version fits Apple Watch Ultra and Ultra 2. Apple’s China 46 mm product listing names 44 mm, 45 mm, 46 mm and 49 mm case compatibility. Because sizing details can vary by listing and market, check Apple’s local product page for your watch case before ordering.
What is the material, and what does it cost?
Apple’s China product listing describes the band as precision-woven nylon and lists the 46 mm version at RMB 379. That is a China-market listing price, not a universal or guaranteed current price. Apple’s UK announcement listed a £49 launch price in 2025; it should be treated as a dated launch figure rather than a current UK price.

What is the Unity Rhythm watch face?
Unity Rhythm is the matching watch face, not the name of the band. Apple says its custom red, green and yellow numerals respond to the watch’s gyroscope when the wearer raises their wrist. The face also plays rhythmic chimes on the hour and half hour. Matching iPhone and iPad wallpapers change orientation when the devices lock or unlock. These are related digital elements of the collection; the Sport Loop’s color effect comes from its woven loops.
Is this the same as Apple’s 2026 Black Unity band?
No. Apple’s 2026 Unity Connection Braided Solo Loop is a separate band with a different construction and appearance. Apple describes it as recycled polyester yarn wrapped around ultrathin silicone threads, with red, green and black threads. It is not the Sport Loop with the green-to-red shifting effect. Apple’s 2026 announcement lists 42 mm and 46 mm case sizes and band sizes 0–12.

The two editions should not be treated as interchangeable product names: look for “Black Unity Sport Loop” and “Unity Rhythm” when identifying the color-shifting band, and confirm the local listing’s compatibility and price before purchase.
