Wrist game. The Breguet Tradition 7027 makes a strong case for its unusual dial-side movement display: it is technically legible as a watch, but visually closer to a miniature mechanical composition than a conventional dress-watch dial. That judgment is based on its documented design and specifications, not a claim of personal wear experience.
Why the Tradition 7027 stands out
The 7027 puts much of its movement architecture on the dial side. Auction catalogs describe examples as semi-skeletonized, a useful distinction: the watch exposes its mechanism without presenting the entire movement as an uninterrupted open-worked field. Breguet’s model documentation says the Tradition line arranges movement components on the dial side.

The result is visually busy by design. The exposed components, hands, and indications share the same face, so the appeal depends on enjoying mechanical detail rather than preferring a quiet, conventional dial. For a style verdict, that deliberate tension is the 7027’s strongest asset—and its clearest point of division.
What the reference is, and where it comes from
Sotheby’s describes reference 7027 as introduced in 2005 and inspired by historical Breguet creations, including the montre à tact and souscription. Phillips likewise dates the Tradition collection’s release to 2005 and frames it as a tribute to Abraham-Louis Breguet’s legacy. These are auction-house descriptions of the model’s history.

Breguet’s own documentation says the collection draws inspiration from Abraham-Louis Breguet’s Souscription watches. That is the brand’s stated design lineage, rather than an independent historical assessment.
In a March 31, 2026 collection announcement, Breguet said the Tradition collection was being revitalised and named models 7037, 7097, 7038, and 7067. The announcement does not establish that reference 7027 remains in production, so it should not be treated as confirmation of current production status.
Specifications: distinguish the reference from the individual watch
Catalogued examples identify the manual-winding calibre 507DR. Sotheby’s reports a 50-hour power reserve, 30 m water resistance, and Pare-Chute shock protection for its example; Fratello also describes the 507 DR as manual wind with a 50-hour reserve and a reserve display at the upper left of the dial.
Phillips’ circa-2010 example is specified as an 18k white-gold watch measuring 38 mm across, with 34 jewels, a leather strap, and a Breguet white-gold pin buckle. Its listing also describes a fitted presentation box and outer packaging. Those case and accessory details belong to that catalogued watch, not automatically to every 7027 variant.

What the water-resistance rating means
Breguet’s model documentation states: “This watch is guaranteed water-resistant to 30m, provided the crown is in position 1.” The crown-position condition matters, and the stated rating should not be turned into a swimming or diving recommendation.

Phillips’ Fall 2026 listing for its circa-2010 white-gold example gives an estimate of CHF 7,000–14,000 and showed a CHF 15,000 bid snapshot when indexed. Those are figures attached to one auction listing, not a general market valuation. Sale status, fees, condition, provenance, completeness, and bidding can all affect what a particular example costs.
The available listings establish that exact-reference examples appear in auction catalogs; they do not establish current retail availability, a market-wide price trend, or the availability of parts and service at a particular cost.
What to check before buying a used 7027
- Confirm the exact configuration. Check case material, diameter, movement, strap and buckle, and included accessories against the individual watch’s records.
- Ask for service documentation. Have the condition and service history assessed by Breguet or a qualified watchmaker before purchase.
- Read the price basis carefully. An estimate or bid snapshot for one auction lot is not interchangeable with a completed-sale price or a current asking price.
- Keep the water-resistance claim in context. The model documentation’s 30 m statement is conditional on the crown being in position 1 and is not a use recommendation for swimming or diving.
Verdict: wrist game
The Tradition 7027 earns the verdict because its exposed movement architecture gives the watch a distinctive identity, while its documented lineage ties that design to Breguet’s historical references. It is best suited, as a matter of taste, to someone who wants the mechanism to dominate the visual experience rather than disappear behind a restrained dial. Its appeal is specific, not universal—and that is precisely what makes it memorable.
