How the Trappist-1 Moonphase display works
Xeric designed the watch around the TRAPPIST-1 planetary system. Its grille is described in the campaign as a viewing window into a star field. Two Super-LumiNova planet markers move around the dial: the inner planet indicates hours, while the outer planet indicates minutes. The central viewing window shows the moon phase.
Xeric’s campaign described the inspiration as “this new planetary system of seven planets resembling our own, located 12 parsecs (39 light years) away from us and orbiting a red dwarf star slightly larger than Jupiter.” This is brand-authored campaign copy, not a statement attributed to a named individual.

Campaign edition and funding figures
Xeric’s Kickstarter campaign ran from October 25 to November 24, 2017. It listed a $25,000 funding goal and, in a page update dated August 25, 2021, reported $372,559 pledged by 1,448 backers. Those historical campaign totals describe crowdfunding results, not current stock, resale prices, or the final number of watches produced.
The campaign said it intended to make 2,017 individually numbered pieces per colorway. That is the campaign’s limited-run statement; it does not independently confirm final production totals or present-day availability.

Do not confuse it with the Trappist-1 NASA Edition
Xeric also has a separate Apollo 11 Trappist-1 NASA Edition. Its published specifications belong to that variant, not the Moonphase:

The NASA Edition figures come from Xeric’s separate Apollo 11 Trappist-1 NASA Edition product page. They should not be used to fill gaps in the Moonphase’s specifications.

Availability and what is not established
The Kickstarter page documents the Moonphase model and its historical campaign, but does not establish whether it is currently available, what it sells for on the resale market, or whether an Amazon listing exists. Check that any listing identifies the Moonphase specifically rather than a NASA Edition variant.
The campaign also does not state a replacement strap’s lug width or confirm compatibility with other straps. Verify fit against the exact watch before ordering a replacement.
