The Yema Superman 500 GMT’s 2023 additions expanded the line mainly through new bezel colors and materials, while keeping its core GMT platform intact. The choice is between aluminum and sapphire bezel inserts, then between 39 mm and 41 mm cases. The editions described here were reported in February 2023; they should not be assumed to be the newest models or currently available in 2026.
What changed in the 2023 editions?
The first Superman 500 GMT release, reported in 2022, came in three black-dial versions: Pepsi with a blue-and-red aluminum bezel, Batman with blue-and-gray aluminum, and a black-and-white version with a luminous sapphire insert. The key difference was the bezel, rather than a distinct movement or complication.
In February 2023, Monochrome Watches reported three further combinations: white-and-green sapphire, white-and-red sapphire, and black-and-brown aluminum. These additions broadened the palette but retained the important distinction between aluminum and sapphire inserts. Sapphire versions are luminous; do not assume the aluminum versions share that insert construction or luminous behavior. Monochrome Watches’ February 27, 2023 report describes the additions.

The Yema manual lists reference codes for the standard, Pepsi, and Batman names, each in two case sizes. It does not establish reference codes for every later colorway, so confirm the exact reference with a seller rather than inferring it from the bezel colors. Yema’s Superman 500 GMT manual lists standard YGMT22A39 and YGMT22A41, Pepsi YGMT22B39 and YGMT22B41, and Batman YGMT22C39 and YGMT22C41.

How to choose between the 39 mm and 41 mm cases
The two sizes differ not just in diameter but also in lug-to-lug length and strap width. The figures below are published specifications in the 2022–2023 coverage and manual; they are not measurements taken for this article.

The thickness convention matters: Monochrome reports 11.52 mm without the domed crystal and 13.92 mm including it. A case-only figure and a crystal-inclusive figure are not interchangeable.
Fratello’s September 2022 reviewer preferred the proportions of the 39 mm sample and described it as comfortable. That is one reviewer’s wrist experience, not a guarantee of fit for every wearer. If you are between sizes, compare lug-to-lug length and lug width against a watch you already find comfortable, as well as the diameter.

What the GMT hand and bezel actually do
The YEMA3000 automatic movement has an independently adjustable 24-hour GMT hand. The manual also explains how to show a third time zone: rotate the bi-directional 24-hour bezel and read the GMT hand against the shifted scale. This operating behavior is more useful than relying on conflicting labels in reviews about whether the watch is a “traveller’s” or “office/caller” GMT.

- Set the 24-hour GMT hand independently to the second time zone you want to track.
- For a third time zone, rotate the bezel and read the GMT hand against the bezel’s 24-hour scale.
- After setting, screw the crown down fully to preserve the watch’s intended water resistance.
The movement specifications reported by Yema and specialist coverage are 28,800 vibrations per hour, 29 jewels, and a 42-hour power reserve. The case is stainless steel, with a screw-down crown, domed sapphire crystal, printed dial markers, and date display. Published water resistance is 500 m. These are model specifications, not a recommendation to expose any watch to water without checking its condition and ensuring the crown is secured.

The watch was reported with a five-link steel bracelet, FKM rubber, and leather strap options. Fratello’s 2022 reviewer found the bracelet comfortable but criticized its perceived quality and clasp relative to the watch’s design. Treat that as an individual, dated assessment rather than a universal verdict; if the bracelet is central to your choice, inspect the clasp and finish on the exact example.

Monochrome’s 2023 listing gave historical prices of USD/EUR 1,399 on steel and USD/EUR 1,429 on FKM rubber; it also mentioned leather at 1,259. Those are February 2023 figures, not current quotes. The lug widths differ by case size, so verify strap width and end-link or clasp compatibility for the precise reference before ordering another bracelet or strap.
Availability and ownership notes
Yema’s collection page accessed October 7, 2026 displays Dato, Gilt, Slim, and Classics families, but does not display the Superman 500 GMT. That omission alone does not establish that the GMT has been discontinued. Current production status, retail stock, and seller availability are not established here; check with Yema or a reputable retailer before treating any listing as current. After salt-water exposure, the manual says: “Always rinse your watch with fresh water after it’s been exposed to salt water.” Follow the manufacturer’s instructions and have water resistance checked if the watch has been opened or is due for service.
