What Nacar watch did Yusuf Dikeç wear?
Time+Tide identified the watch visible on Dikeç as the Nacar Aquamatic 07-290699-BNS6, based on its design details. This is a reported identification, not a model name publicly confirmed by Dikeç or Nacar in the sources reviewed.
Time+Tide describes the original as a quartz watch with day and date displays, a 46 mm blackened-steel case, guarded crowns, a green textured rubber strap and 200 m water resistance. The offset guarded crown and second crown controlling an inner rotating bezel are among the visual cues cited in the identification.

Specifications should not be transferred from one version to the other. In particular, the sapphire crystal and FKM strap are stated in Brandworks’ description of the later edition, not in the cited description of the original competition watch.

How was the watch identified?
Time+Tide identified the Nacar Aquamatic by comparing visible details in photographs with the model’s design. Its account points to the green strap, large blackened case and distinctive guarded, dual-crown layout. Treat the model identification as specialist reporting rather than an official statement from Dikeç.
Why are there two Nacar watches associated with Dikeç?
According to a Dünya Gazetesi interview with Konyalı 1951 CEO İrfan Nalçacı, Dikeç’s commander gave him the original Aquamatic about 11–12 years before the interview, and Dikeç wore it as his everyday watch. Nalçacı also said production of that original model had stopped after three or four years.

Nacar later created a separate Dikeç-inspired limited edition. Brandworks’ launch description says 2,024 pieces were made. That commemorative release is not the original watch identified in photographs from Dikeç’s Olympic competition.
Can you buy Yusuf Dikeç’s watch?
The research reviewed for this article does not establish current stock or authorized retail availability for either the original Aquamatic or the later limited edition. The original was reportedly discontinued, and the reviewed catalog information does not confirm that either version is currently offered.

If you find a listing, check the exact reference, seller, condition, return terms and warranty. A listing that calls a watch “Yusuf Dikeç” or “Dikeç edition” does not by itself establish that it is the original competition watch, an authorized listing, or currently in stock.
What is Nacar?
Nacar’s official history says its watches began production in Switzerland in 1929 at the Zila Watch Co. factory, entered the Turkish market in 1942 through the Nacar brothers, and that Konyalı acquired the brand’s worldwide rights in 1998. These dates are brand-published history. Nacar also says it has more than 300 watch models and approximately 400 dealers across Türkiye; those are the company’s own figures.

Is the Dikeç limited edition the same watch he wore at the Olympics?
No. The limited edition was created later to commemorate Dikeç’s Olympic moment. The original competition watch is identified as the Aquamatic 07-290699-BNS6.
