The Zelos Nova 38mm Linen Silver pairs a textured silver dial with a hand-wound ETA/Peseux 7001 movement in a compact, slim case. Zelos specifies a 38 mm diameter, 44 mm lug-to-lug length, 8.5 mm thickness including the crystal, and 100 m water resistance. The hands-on impressions below are Rob Nudds’s, published by Fratello on September 22, 2020; they are not a new independent test.
What the Zelos Nova 38mm Linen Silver offers
This is a no-date, manually wound watch built around a linen-textured silver dial. Zelos lists gilt indices and hands, BGW9 lume, a vintage box-style crystal, and a sapphire display caseback. The caseback reveals a decorated ETA/Peseux 7001 with Côtes de Genève engraving and blued screws.
The brand’s specification page lists a black Chromexcel Horween leather strap and a screw-link steel bracelet with a butterfly deployant. It also lists a travel roll, wooden gift box, and steel warranty card. These are manufacturer-published specifications and package details, not observations from the 2020 review. The 44 mm lug-to-lug measurement is useful alongside the 38 mm diameter when comparing fit with a watch you already own. Individual wrist shape and preferred proportions still matter; the dimensions alone cannot establish how it will sit on a particular wearer. Its 20 mm lug width also means a compatible replacement or alternate strap can be considered, subject to the strap’s attachment, length, and fit.

What the hands-on review found
Rob Nudds’s Fratello review, published September 22, 2020, describes a watch he handled after a shipping delay. His strongest positive reaction was to the dial texture: “The linen rocks.” Nudds also praised the case execution and machining, found the supplied leather strap comfortable, and considered the bracelet a worthwhile extra. These are his impressions, not independently established durability or quality findings.
He was less taken with the logo treatment and the dot markers on the sub-dial, which he regarded as design drawbacks. Those criticisms are subjective preferences rather than functional faults. The review is useful for a sense of how one reviewer responded to the watch in person, but it is dated and does not substitute for assessing a current or pre-owned example yourself. Movement and power reserve
Zelos identifies the movement as the hand-wound ETA/Peseux 7001, but its product page does not state a power reserve. SeriousWatches lists 42 hours; Nudds’s 2020 review noted that published figures he encountered ranged from 42 to 46 hours and were inconsistent. Treat the precise reserve as unconfirmed for this watch unless the seller or a movement-specific primary source verifies it. SeriousWatches product listing
Manual winding is a practical distinction: the owner winds the watch rather than relying on wrist movement to keep it running. If a specific reserve is important to your routine, ask the seller what documentation applies to the exact watch being offered.

Water resistance, crystal, and day-to-day use
Zelos states 100 m water resistance and specifies a vintage box-style crystal with a sapphire display back. The rating is the manufacturer’s specification; it does not establish that a particular activity is appropriate for every watch, especially a pre-owned one whose seals and service history may be unknown. For any used example, ask about its condition and whether its water resistance has been checked.

Warranty terms are seller-specific. Zelos’s product page states a one-year international warranty for manufacturing or movement issues arising from normal use, while SeriousWatches’s new-product listing describes a two-year retailer warranty. Those are different sellers’ terms, not conflicting statements about one shared warranty. Review the terms attached to the actual sale, including return eligibility and who pays return shipping.

Who should consider the Nova?
- Consider it if you want a slim, manually wound watch with a textured dial, restrained case dimensions, and both strap and bracelet options listed by the manufacturer.
- Look more closely before buying if an exact power-reserve figure, a particular sub-dial design, or confirmed suitability for a specific water activity is essential to you.
- Compare alternatives by lug-to-lug length and thickness as well as diameter; winding type and documented reserve; dial legibility; water-resistance needs; included accessories; and the live seller price and warranty.
