The Zelos Spearfish is an evolution of the brand’s Swordfish, with the La Joux-Perret G100 automatic movement as its defining change. The current Zelos listing for the 12-hour meteorite version specifies a 40 mm case, 200 m water resistance and a G100 Soigné with gunmetal plating. That page showed the watch at $849 USD and sold out when accessed; those details apply to that listing, not necessarily every Spearfish variant or future availability.
What movement does the Zelos Spearfish use?
The Spearfish launched in 2022 with La Joux-Perret’s G100, replacing the Seiko NH35 used in the earlier Swordfish context discussed by Fratello reviewer Dave Sergeant. Zelos currently identifies the G100 Soigné with gunmetal plating in its 12-hour meteorite Spearfish listing. This is a specification for that listed variant; confirm the movement on other colorways or versions rather than assuming every configuration is identical.
Fratello described the G100 as designed to compete with, and serve as a drop-in replacement for, the ETA 2824 and Sellita SW-200. That is the reviewer’s characterization, not a claim that the movements are interchangeable in every watch or that the G100 outranks them. The review’s 2022 specification block lists 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz), 24 jewels, a 68-hour power reserve and regulation in four positions. These figures come from the review; an official current La Joux-Perret technical sheet was not among the sources available here.
Sergeant speculated about a possible relationship to Miyota 9-series architecture, but explicitly treated that as conjecture. It should not be read as confirmed movement lineage.

Spearfish specifications on the current meteorite listing
Zelos’s product page specifies the following for its 40 mm, 12-hour meteorite version:
| Specification | Listed detail |
|---|---|
| Case diameter | 40 mm |
| Lug-to-lug | 47 mm |
| Thickness | 11.5 mm, excluding the crystal |
| Lug width | 20 mm |
| Water resistance | 200 m |
| Movement | La Joux-Perret G100 Soigné, gunmetal plated |
| Crystal and caseback | Sapphire crystal with inner anti-reflective coating; sapphire display caseback |
| Bezel and dial | Blue ceramic bezel; meteorite dial |
| Hands and indices | Blued |
| Bracelet | Steel, with screw links, quick-adjust clasp and quick-release spring bars |
These are the details for the variant on the Zelos product page, not a verified specification sheet for the full Spearfish range. The 20 mm lug width means a 20 mm strap is the nominal size to look for, but check its end-link shape and spring-bar fit before buying; width alone does not establish compatibility.

How the Spearfish changed the Swordfish
Fratello’s February 15, 2022 review presented the Spearfish as a refinement of the Swordfish: the new movement came alongside a slimmer case and finishing changes. The movement shift—from the NH35 associated with the earlier Swordfish to the G100—was the central mechanical distinction. The case dimensions on Zelos’s current meteorite listing provide a useful sizing reference, but they should not be projected onto every launch configuration without checking its own specifications.
At launch, Fratello described six dial-and-bezel combinations, divided between traditional dive bezels and 12-hour bezels. That describes the 2022 lineup, not what is currently in stock. The meteorite listing combines a meteorite dial with a blue ceramic 12-hour bezel; other combinations may differ in materials and appearance.

What one reviewer observed about timekeeping and wear
Sergeant borrowed a review watch and wore it for about a week. Using WatchTracker, he recorded data points over seven days and reported an average of +2.6 seconds per day, with a slowest-to-fastest variance of -3.7/+5.1 seconds. He described that sample result as within COSC-level specifications. It is a single reviewer’s observation, not evidence that the Spearfish is officially COSC-certified or a guarantee of accuracy for production watches.
The same review praised the case finishing, bracelet articulation, tool-less micro-adjust clasp and operation of the 60-click 12-hour bezel. Those are Sergeant’s subjective impressions of his review watch, rather than independent durability or performance test results.

Price and availability: launch figures versus the current listing
| Price | What it refers to | Source and timing |
|---|---|---|
| $645 starting price | Regular dial types at launch | Fratello’s 2022 coverage; historical launch pricing |
| $699 | Forged-carbon dial and bezel at launch | Fratello’s 2022 coverage; historical launch pricing |
| $749 | Meteorite version at launch | Fratello’s 2022 coverage; historical launch pricing |
| $849 USD | 12-hour meteorite version on the Zelos product page | Price displayed on the page when accessed; the same listing showed “Sold Out” |
The current listing’s price and stock status are a dated page observation, not a guaranteed offer or a statement about every variant. Zelos says the listed watch has a one-year international warranty covering manufacturing or movement defects from normal use and a seven-day return window for brand-new, unworn watches, with return shipping paid by the buyer. The page also says customs, taxes or VAT may be the buyer’s responsibility and that US shipping will not incur extra duties or tariffs. These terms can change, so check the product page before ordering.
