That compact diameter is only part of the fit story: Fratello’s 2024 review reports a 46mm lug-to-lug length and 14mm thickness, and its reviewer found the height more apparent on wrist than the size suggests.
What the C911 reference includes
Reference 03.3400.3610/38.C911 is the stainless-steel version with a silvery-white opaline dial, black chronograph counters, and black calfskin strap. It has a domed, anti-reflective sapphire crystal and a transparent sapphire display back. Zenith’s current US listing specifies a 38mm case, approximately 60 hours of power reserve, and 5 ATM water resistance. The calendar and chronograph indications share the dial rather than occupying separate subdials. Day and month windows sit above the chronograph registers; the date appears at 4:30. At 6 o’clock, the moonphase is integrated into the 60-minute chronograph counter. The small-seconds display is separate. Through the back, the movement is visible along with its blue column wheel and star-marked rotor. Zenith’s January 2024 technical sheet documents the steel variants and specifications.
How the El Primero 3610 chronograph works
The automatic El Primero 3610 runs at 36,000 vibrations per hour, or 5Hz. Zenith specifies it as a genuine 1/10-second chronograph: the central chronograph hand makes one full revolution every 10 seconds. That is the movement’s timing indication, not merely a dial scale marked in tenths. The two chronograph counters record elapsed seconds and minutes, while the small seconds continue to show running time. The same movement drives the calendar and moonphase functions.

Fit and wear: consider height as well as diameter
Zenith gives the case diameter as 38mm. Fratello’s 2024 hands-on review lists the steel watch at 46mm lug-to-lug and 14mm thick. Those latter measurements are from Fratello, not an independently verified fit test here. The reviewer said the case-and-lug construction made the watch sit high, describing an overpass-like effect, and found the thickness especially noticeable on bracelet. That is one reviewer’s impression, not a guarantee of how it will fit every wrist.
The same review praises the dial’s arrangement and legibility, and reports smooth-feeling crown and calendar setting. The reviewer says the day, date, and month advance at midnight. A personal reservation was the contrast of the blue moonphase disc against the dial. On the bracelet, the reviewer was critical of the bracelet and stamped clasp relative to the review-era price, while finding the leather strap’s folding clasp more satisfying. These are subjective observations; anyone weighing the purchase should assess the exact configuration in person if possible.

Steel Triple Calendar variants and current US price
Keep the references straight when comparing listings: the strap, dial, and market determine which exact watch and price are being discussed. Zenith’s US product page displayed $14,500 for the silver-white panda C911 on black calfskin on October 8, 2026. That is a US listing price for this reference, not a quote for the bracelet model or other regional markets.

Zenith’s January 2024 sheet lists CHF 12,900 for the C911 strap reference and CHF 13,400 for the M3200 bracelet reference; these are historical launch-era Swiss prices, not current retail quotes. Fratello’s 2024 review lists €14,000 for strap versions and €14,500 for bracelet versions at the time of its article. Those euro figures are historical review-era prices and should not be treated as current quotes or converted into a present-day price comparison.

What the Triple Calendar adds to the Chronomaster Original
The appeal is the combination of a high-frequency chronograph and a complete day/date/month calendar with moonphase, arranged within the compact 38mm steel outline associated with the Chronomaster Original. The trade-off is a more information-dense dial and, according to Fratello’s measurements and reviewer, a case whose height can be conspicuous. Someone choosing between this and a standard Chronomaster Original should decide whether the added calendar and moonphase indications justify the extra complication and the wrist presence—not assume that the shared diameter means they wear alike.

Zenith says the El Primero was designed from the outset to accommodate triple-calendar and moonphase functions. In the manufacturer’s account, it made a 25-watch prototype series in 1970 using the round A386 case, then waited until later in that decade to release a production triple-calendar watch in a different, more space-age design. The present watch returns to A386 proportions while fitting the calendar and moonphase into that 38mm case. The steel lineup described in Zenith’s January 2024 materials included the silver-white panda and slate-gray dial executions, with calfskin or three-link bracelet options, as well as an olive-green boutique edition. A separate 2025 official release documented a rose-gold, black-dial version, so the steel watches are not the only executions in the broader line. Special-edition availability and regional listings can change; match the reference to the dial and strap or bracelet before comparing prices.
