The colorful Zenith DEFY Revival A3648 is a stainless-steel diver with a black dial, orange accents, a 37 mm angular case, and the in-house Elite 670 automatic movement. Zenith announced it on April 9, 2024, as a modern take on its 1969 A3648 diver. The A3648 name also appears on a separate microblasted-titanium version with yellow accents, so the reference number matters before you compare or buy.
What Zenith announced
Zenith’s April 9, 2024 press release introduced the DEFY Revival A3648 as a revival of the original A3648 diver from 1969, the reference that the brand ties to the launch of its DEFY line. The launch model is the stainless-steel version, reference 03.A3648.670/21.M3648. Everything in this article about dimensions, movement, and water resistance comes from Zenith’s own published specifications for that release, not from independent testing.
Case, dial and bezel
- Case: stainless steel, 37 mm in diameter, with the angular shape that defines the DEFY family.
- Dial: black, with orange hands and an orange minute track.
- Bezel: a rotating bezel with a sapphire insert, with orange markings.
The orange is the defining feature of this reference. It carries across the hands, the minute track, and the bezel markings, so the watch reads as a single color scheme rather than a black watch with a stray accent.
Movement and power reserve
The watch runs on the automatic Elite 670 manufacture movement. Zenith gives an approximate power reserve of 50 hours and a beat rate of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz). Those are the brand’s figures for this movement; the release does not provide independent timing or reserve measurements.

Zenith rates the steel DEFY Revival A3648 at 600 metres, or 60 ATM. That is a manufacturer specification. It describes the case’s resistance under Zenith’s testing and should not be read as an endorsement for diving to that depth, which depends on the crown, gaskets, and servicing of the individual watch.
Two references carry the A3648 name
Zenith also lists a microblasted-titanium A3648 under reference 97.A3648.670/21.M3648, with a black-and-yellow palette. It shares the model name and the .670/21 suffix with the steel launch model, but the material, reference, and accent color are different. The table sets out what the cited sources establish for each.
| Feature | Stainless steel (launch model) | Microblasted titanium |
|---|---|---|
| Reference | 03.A3648.670/21.M3648 | 97.A3648.670/21.M3648 |
| Case material | Stainless steel | Microblasted titanium |
| Case diameter | 37 mm | Not stated in the cited Zenith sources |
| Accent color | Orange | Yellow |
| Dial | Black | Black |
| Movement | Elite 670 automatic | Not stated in the cited Zenith sources |
| Water resistance | 600 m (60 ATM), per Zenith’s April 2024 release | Not stated in the cited Zenith sources |
| Price | 7,400 CHF launch price, April 2024 release | Not stated in the cited Zenith sources |
The titanium reference is listed on Zenith’s current UK product page, but that page is not dated in the sources, so treat it as the current listing as of the date you read this, not as a confirmed long-term status.
Price and where to buy
The April 2024 release gave a launch price of 7,400 CHF for the steel watch. That figure is dated and was set in one market; it is not a verified current price in every region, and retailers may charge differently. Zenith’s release said the watch was available through its physical and online boutiques and authorized retailers. The company’s wording was:
Recommended Free Tools
“The DEFY Revival A3648 is available from all ZENITH physical and online boutiques as well as authorized retailers around the world.”
That statement dates from the launch and does not confirm stock levels now. To check availability, use Zenith’s official boutiques or its authorized retailer list in your country.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What the available sources do not establish
- No independent dive test, wear test, or timing test has been published for this watch, so the 600 m and 50-hour figures are Zenith’s own numbers.
- No current regional pricing, stock levels, or retailer terms for the steel model are established by the sources.
- A full side-by-side comparison of the steel and titanium references, including weight and all regional configurations, is not available from the cited material.
If you are deciding between the two references, start with the case material and the accent color, then confirm the reference number on the caseback or the retailer’s listing before you buy.
