The Zenith DEFY Skyline C.X Edition is a 200-piece collaboration with Collective Horology, introduced on November 19, 2024. Its defining change is a date-free, more symmetrical dial with the 1/10-second display moved to six o’clock, set inside a 41 mm matte-finished steel case. Zenith’s original listed price was 11,900 CHF / 12,900 EUR; Collective Horology’s product page currently says sold out, which does not establish availability elsewhere.

What is the DEFY Skyline C.X Edition?

It is a limited-edition version of Zenith’s DEFY Skyline, created with Collective Horology, a retailer focused on independent watchmakers and collaborative watches. Zenith described the C.X Edition as the tenth collaboration between the two partners and drew on 20th-century industrial design for its retro-inspired treatment. The 2024 release was limited to 200 pieces. Zenith’s announcement and Collective Horology’s coverage describe the project and its design context.

How does the C.X change the Skyline dial?

The C.X removes the date window found on standard DEFY Skyline models and shifts the 1/10-second indication from nine o’clock to six. That relocation, together with the absence of a date, gives the dial a more symmetrical layout. The display is driven directly by the movement’s 5 Hz escapement. Orange on the subdial hand tip and the “10” marker provides a restrained contrast against the silver-grey dial. Zenith’s release explains the display changes; Collective Horology’s product page shows the edition’s details.

The dial has a gradient, starry-sky pattern. Its engraved four-pointed stars are deeper toward the center and shallower toward the edge, adding texture without changing the dial’s overall silver-grey appearance.

Case, bracelet and included strap

The stainless-steel case measures 41 mm across. Zenith describes the faceted case and integrated bracelet as matte sandblasted, with polished details on the dodecagonal bezel sides and caseback; Collective Horology uses the term micro-blasted for the case finish. The watch also comes with an orange textured rubber strap and a steel folding clasp, offering a less formal alternative to the integrated bracelet. Zenith’s specifications and Collective Horology’s listing provide the case and strap details.

Movement and display

The automatic El Primero 3620 SK runs at 36,000 vibrations per hour, or 5 Hz, and has an approximately 55-hour power reserve, according to Zenith. The display provides central hours and minutes plus the 1/10-second indication at six o’clock. Zenith also specifies a stop-second mechanism and a silicon escape wheel and lever. The tenth-second readout is a display feature; the published specifications do not establish an accuracy rating or independent performance test.

Price and availability

Zenith listed the original price at 11,900 CHF / 12,900 EUR in its November 19, 2024 announcement. That is the launch-era listed price, not a current quote or a resale valuation. The announcement said initial availability was exclusive to Collective Horology and the Zenith online boutique, with physical Zenith boutiques beginning December 19, 2024. Those dates describe the launch distribution, not current stock. Collective Horology’s page is currently labeled “Sold Out”; no broader authorized-retailer stock or secondary-market price is established here. Zenith’s release contains the original price and launch terms, while Collective Horology’s page carries its present sold-out status.
