Both share the same reported 40 mm case, 200 m water resistance and STP 7-20 caller-GMT movement; the choice is primarily about which look suits you.
What changed with the return?
In an April 8, 2024 report, Fratello described the two watches as regular-production additions, rather than limited colorways like earlier versions. Each has applied markers and a date window at 3 o’clock. The report does not establish whether either model is still in production or currently available.
How the two colorways differ
| Version | Dial and bezel | Style |
|---|---|---|
| Silver dial | Silver sunburst dial; black-and-gray 24-hour bezel | More restrained. Fratello’s Jorg Weppelink called it stylish and suggested it could work as a daily wearer; that is his assessment, not a technical distinction. |
| Black dial | Black dial; pink-and-white 24-hour bezel | The brighter, more colorful option. Weppelink characterized it as a summer watch, a subjective styling judgment. |
Fratello reported no technical difference between the colorways. Both watches have the same listed case dimensions, water resistance, movement and bracelet.
Shared case and bracelet specifications
Fratello lists a 40 mm stainless-steel case measuring 47.8 mm lug to lug and 13.6 mm thick, with 20 mm lug spacing. The case has a sapphire crystal and a screw-in stainless-steel caseback, and is rated to 200 m water resistance.
#1 Best Overall
- BLUE DIAL: this handsome men’s watch features a striking deep blue dial with luminous dial indicator hands and markers and date calendar to keep you organized
- BLUE & BLACK BEZEL: with a 24-hour bezel and easy-to-read fourth hand, this GMT watch helps you keep time as you travel
- DURABLE UTILITY: these versatile men’s wrist watches feature a 42.5mm stainless steel watch case and bracelet, for a classic, timeless look.
- WATER-RESISTANT: this rugged sports watch is water-resistant up to 100 meters
- 4R34 CALIBER: equipped with the reliable 4R34 caliber, these automatic watches for men ensure the most accurate in self winding timekeeping, with 41 hours of reserve power and manual winding option
Both versions were reported with a five-row, Jubilee-style stainless-steel bracelet and butterfly clasp. Fratello’s specification table gives the bracelet dimensions as 20/16 mm and describes the clasp as spring-loaded and expandable.
What kind of GMT movement is inside?
The watches use the STP 7-20 automatic GMT caliber, replacing the Soprod C125 used in earlier versions, according to Fratello. Its reported specifications are 28,800 vibrations per hour, 26 jewels and a 40-hour power reserve.
This is a caller GMT: the 24-hour hand can be set independently, and the watch also has a bidirectional 24-hour bezel. The source does not describe an independently jumping local-hour hand, so this should not be treated as a traveler GMT with that function. For someone who mainly wants to track a second time zone, the independent 24-hour hand and bezel are the relevant features.
Rank #2
- GMT Swiss Watch: The practical GMT function makes it possible to display two time zones simultaneously thanks to an additional hand that makes one complete revolution in 24 hours and uses a bezel graduated over 24 hours to indicate a second time zone.
- Movement: Automatic Mido Caliber 80 with Navichron balance spring which reduces magnetic interference and is remarkably robust against impacts and the effects of time. This caliber ensures exceptional autonomy of up to 80 hours.
- Water Resistance: This Swiss-made MIDO timepiece is capable of withstanding pressures of up to 20 bar (200 m/660 ft), and equipped with a screw-down crown, this watch offers optimal protection against water.
- Case Size: 44mm - Case Thickness: 13.38mm. Stainless steel case with blue ceramic bezel and Sapphire crystal with double sided anti-reflection treatment - Lug Width 22mm
- Strap: Tapered, Blue Fabric Strap with Pin Buckle
What did the watches cost at launch?
Fratello reported a price of US$1,995 for each model in its April 8, 2024 article and said they were available through Zodiac’s website at the time. That is a historical launch price, not a current quote. Current pricing, stock, production status and retailer availability are not established by that report.

- Choose the silver dial and black-and-gray bezel if you prefer a lower-key color combination.
- Choose the black dial and pink-and-white bezel if you want a more vivid accent on the wrist.
- Check the fit before buying: the reported dimensions are 40 mm across, 47.8 mm lug to lug and 13.6 mm thick. Wrist shape and personal fit vary, so those numbers are more useful than case diameter alone.
- Consider the GMT setting style: the STP 7-20 is described as a caller GMT, not a watch with an independently adjustable local-hour hand.
Neither colorway has a reported specification advantage over the other. The practical differences established in the launch report are their dial and bezel colors.
