By estimated 2025 wholesale turnover, Rolex leads the luxury watch brands covered in the latest cited ranking. But a sales ranking is not a verdict on craftsmanship, prestige, or which watch is right for you. The ten brands below have a published, attributed turnover order; the next ten are a curated selection, not a continuation of that ranking.
What “top” means in this list
There is no single objective ranking of luxury watch brands. Sales, heritage, design, technical focus, prestige, and accessibility measure different things. The first ten places here follow estimated 2025 wholesale turnover reported by Morgan Stanley and LuxeConsult in their February 2026 Ninth Annual Swiss Watcher. The estimates were reproduced by Time 4 Diamonds; they are not audited revenues or retail sales.

Places 11–20 are an editorial selection of established watchmakers, chosen to broaden the list across heritage, design, and watchmaking focus. They are not ordered by sales or by a measured quality score. The available material does not establish a defensible common ranking for those positions.

- 【Swiss Ronda 763 Quartz Movement】Premium Swiss three-hand quartz movement delivers precise, dependable timekeeping for everyday wear.

- 【Find Your Perfect Fit】 For the ideal balance of presence and comfort, we suggest the 31mm case if your wrist measures between 5.5"–6.3" (14–16 cm) — it offers a refined, elegant silhouette. If your wrist falls in the 6.3"–7.5" (16–19 cm) range, the 36mm case delivers a more substantial yet classic look. Both versions feature a sleek folding clasp with a push‑button release, and we include a precision screwdriver so you can resize the bracelet at home with ease.
| Rank | Brand | Estimated 2025 wholesale turnover | Recognizable model families |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Rolex | CHF 11.0 billion | Submariner, Daytona, GMT-Master II, Datejust |
| 2 | Cartier | CHF 3.5 billion | Santos, Tank, Ballon Bleu |
| 3 | Audemars Piguet | CHF 2.6 billion | Royal Oak, Royal Oak Offshore |
| 4 | Patek Philippe | CHF 2.5 billion | Nautilus, Aquanaut, Calatrava |
| 5 | Omega | CHF 2.2 billion | Speedmaster, Seamaster |
| 6 | Richard Mille | CHF 1.75 billion | RM 011, RM 035, RM 72-01 |
| 7 | Longines | CHF 920 million | Spirit, Master Collection |

| 9 | Breitling | CHF 820 million | Navitimer, Chronomat |
| 10 | Tissot | CHF 720 million | PRX, Seastar |
The estimates show a substantial gap between first and second place in this particular measure. They do not say that one brand makes a better watch than another: wholesale turnover can reflect a company’s scale, product mix, and prices, none of which is a direct quality score.

What the market figures do—and do not—tell you
The turnover list is one view of a changing industry, not a comprehensive measure of luxury-watch demand. The Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry (FH) reported that Swiss watchmaking exports totaled CHF 25.6 billion in 2025, down 1.7% from 2024. Watch exports accounted for CHF 24.4 billion of that value, also down 1.7%; exported volume fell 4.8% to 14.6 million watches, 740,000 fewer than the prior year. These are industry export statistics, not global brand sales or a ranking of individual makers. See the FH’s 2025 Swiss watch industry statistics.
The FH’s export-price bands also moved differently: watches above CHF 3,000 at export price declined 1.9% in value; the CHF 500–3,000 band was stable; and watches below CHF 500 declined 4.5%. These are export-price categories, not recommended consumer budgets. The FH’s outlook was cautious: “At best, 2026 should remain steady, against a background still marked by significant uncertainty.”
A separate report of Morgan Stanley and LuxeConsult estimates, published by INSIGHT-LUXURY, put watches above CHF 50,000 at 37.3% of Swiss watch export value and 1.4% of sales volume in 2025; the report estimated that this segment contributed 89% of reported growth. It also attributed 49.1% of the market to Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, and Richard Mille combined. These figures describe estimated export-market context, not audited accounts or a complete measure of worldwide retail sales. See INSIGHT-LUXURY’s account of the 2025 Morgan Stanley/LuxeConsult report.

Start with the watch and the experience you want, rather than treating brand rank as a buying instruction. Compare specific references, because a maker’s collections can differ substantially in design, movement, materials, and price.
- Design: Decide whether you want a dress watch, a chronograph, a diver-style watch, a pilot-inspired design, or a distinctive integrated-bracelet look. Model families can help narrow the field.
- Watchmaking focus: Compare the movement and complication in the exact reference. A brand’s reputation does not by itself establish the specifications or performance of every model.
- Fit and materials: Check case dimensions, thickness, bracelet or strap options, and materials against the watch you can actually try on or inspect.
- Availability and cost: Check current prices and availability with the relevant seller for your region. A brand’s place in a turnover ranking does not establish what a particular model costs or how easy it is to obtain.
- Ownership evidence: If resale matters, look for data on the exact reference and period. This list does not establish resale performance for any model.
Recognizable models are starting points for research, not proof of universal superiority. A sales rank can tell you which companies are estimated to have the largest wholesale turnover; choosing a watch still depends on the particular model and your priorities.
