Who won the 2026 Louis Vuitton Watch Prize?
Alexandre Hazemann and Victor Monnin of Hazemann & Monnin won the award’s second edition with School Watch. The watchmakers met at watchmaking school in Morteau, France; their independent brand is based in Saint-Aubin-Sauges, Switzerland. Louis Vuitton announced the winner at a ceremony at Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris on March 24, 2026. What is School Watch?
School Watch is a steel wristwatch powered by a manual-winding mechanical movement. Its listed functions are hours, minutes, seconds, jumping hours and chime. The official specification gives a 39.5 mm case diameter and 10.9 mm thickness. Hazemann & Monnin’s in-house HM01 movement synchronizes a passing strike with an instantaneous jumping hour. These are the specifications published for the winning watch, not a comparison with the other finalists’ creations.
Who were the finalists?
Louis Vuitton says 20 semi-finalists were assessed by the Committee of Experts, which selected five finalists. School Watch by Hazemann & Monnin is confirmed as one of those finalists and as the winner. The available official pages do not reliably establish the complete five-name roster; the remaining four finalists therefore cannot be named with confidence here. The 20 semi-finalists should not be mistaken for the five finalists. The award’s official Committee of Experts and Jury page describes the selection stages.

Who was on the final jury?
The official jury list names five members. Carole Forestier Kasapi served as president; Frank Geelen, Kari Voutilainen, François-Xavier Overstake and Matthieu Hegi were jury members. The official jury page lists their roles.
How was the winner selected?
The Committee of Experts selected five finalists from 20 semi-finalists. The final jury, appointed by the Committee, assessed those finalists. The last stage began with auditions, followed by presentations and discussions; jurors then deliberated privately to choose the laureate. The official overview describes the award as recognizing creative talent, savoir-faire and innovation, and encouraging artisans and entrepreneurs in independent watchmaking. What does the prize include?
The trophy is inspired by a balance spring, made in sterling silver in England, and engraved with the winner’s name during the closing ceremony. The 2025–2026 edition was the prize’s second; the first laureate was Raúl Pagès, according to Louis Vuitton’s official overview.
