Reference 239.050 was presented in 2020 as part of A. Lange & Söhne’s “Homage to F. A. Lange” releases, commemorating the 175th anniversary of Saxon precision watchmaking. The 1815 family takes its name from the birth year of Ferdinand Adolph Lange, who founded his manufactory in Glashütte on 7 December 1845. A. Lange & Söhne’s 2020 announcement identifies the model as a two-hand limited edition of 175 pieces.
Design and proportions
The watch’s 38 mm diameter and 6.3 mm case height give it compact, notably slim proportions. Its simple two-hand display suits a formal dress-watch role, while the dial’s detailing supplies the visual structure: it is white enamel in two parts, with dark-grey Arabic numerals and a railway-track minute scale. The hands are Honeygold, matching the case and buckle.
Monochrome Watches described the watch as an elegant, slim dress watch and praised its simple enamel dial. That is the reviewer’s assessment rather than a claim of a personal wear test here; the available specifications establish the dimensions and materials, but not how the watch fits every wrist or performs in daily use.

Honeygold case and components
The case, hands and buckle use A. Lange & Söhne’s 750 HONEYGOLD alloy. The manufacturer says it developed the alloy exclusively for its watches and that it is used only by the brand. It also says special admixtures and thermal treatment make Honeygold harder and more scratch-resistant than other 18-carat gold alloys. The cited sources do not provide independent comparative test data for that durability claim.
Movement and finishing
Inside is the manually wound L093.1 calibre. It measures 2.9 mm in height, contains 167 parts and has a 72-hour power reserve, according to the manufacturer. The reserve is a specification; actual running time can depend on the movement’s condition and how fully it is wound.

Lange & Söhne describes a granular German-silver three-quarter plate, integrated crown and ratchet wheels with circular graining, gold chatons secured by thermally blued screws, and a hand-engraved balance cock.
