The Biver Automatique was the 2024 follow-up to the brand’s Carillon Tourbillon: a conventional three-hand watch rather than a chiming, tourbillon-equipped showcase, but still built around precious materials, detailed finishing and a newly developed micro-rotor movement. Fratello’s Michael Stockton called it a “perfect sequel”; that is his assessment, not a claim of independent testing. The launch comprised four references, and Biver’s collection has since expanded beyond them.
Why the Automatique followed the Carillon Tourbillon
The Carillon Tourbillon put mechanical complexity front and center. The Automatique takes a different route: hours, minutes and central seconds, with no tourbillon or chiming complication. Its contrast with the earlier watch is the point of the sequel. The display is restrained, while the case materials, dials and movement finishing keep it firmly in high-end watchmaking territory.
Stockton described the Automatique as a toned-down offering after the Carillon Tourbillon. His “perfect sequel” framing is best understood as a judgment about the change in emphasis, not as a claim that the watches are mechanically equivalent or that the Automatique is a direct substitute.
What were the four 2024 launch versions?
Fratello’s September 6, 2024 launch report covered four references. Their reported strap prices and optional bracelet additions are historical launch figures, not guaranteed current prices.

The launch watches measured 39 mm across, 47.55 mm lug-to-lug and 10 mm thick, with sapphire crystals on both sides and 80 m water resistance, according to Fratello. The original configuration used a leather strap and precious-metal pin buckle; the report described a five-row bracelet as an optional upcoming choice.
Dial treatments and materials
The platinum launch model paired its case with a solid white-gold sector dial. The Pietersite and obsidian Atelier Series editions used stone dials, making their surface material a major part of their distinction. The regular rose-gold version offered another case-and-dial combination, though Fratello’s report does not specify its dial material in the launch comparison.

The article also describes elaborate finishing across the watch, including guilloché, black polishing, straight graining, satin finishing and anglage. These techniques help explain how a three-hand display can still carry substantial craft; they do not change its basic timekeeping layout.
What movement powers the Biver Automatique?
Fratello identified the launch movement as the Dubois Dépraz-developed JCB-003. It is an automatic calibre with a micro-rotor, and it can also be wound by hand. Its reported specifications are:

The zero-reset mechanism makes setting the watch more precise: instead of continuing to run while the crown is out, the seconds hand returns to the top of the dial. Current official Biver product pages continue to describe the Automatique family as using the JCB-003 calibre family, with calibre suffixes varying by version. Biver’s Japan Edition page, for example, lists JCB-003-A; do not assume every later reference has that exact suffix.
How much does the Biver Automatique cost now?
The CHF 75,000–92,000 strap prices above are the amounts Fratello reported for the four 2024 launch references. On October 7, 2026, Biver’s ecommerce collection displayed CHF 75,000 for Automatique Rose Gold and CHF 78,000 for Automatique Platinum; sampled listings for those models were marked sold out. Sampled Pietersite and obsidian listings displayed CHF 89,000 and CHF 92,000 respectively and were also marked sold out. These are displayed prices and listing statuses observed on that date, not confirmation of stock or a firm current quote.

Biver says its online retail prices exclude VAT and applicable taxes or duties and may change. Confirm the price, configuration and availability directly with the brand or an official retail partner before making a purchase decision. Biver says production is intentionally limited, delivery can take several months, and prospective buyers can enquire or register interest for confirmed lead times.

The four watches in the 2024 report are not the entire current Automatique range. Biver’s collection now lists additional named variants, including Clous de Paris, Lavender Jade, matte gray and burgundy enamel, mahogany obsidian, Oeil de Fer, quartzite, two-tone and yellow gold. The brand’s broader official watch catalog lists 28 timepieces; that number refers to the catalog overall, not to Automatique models alone.

Later listings should not be mistaken for part of the original four-watch launch. Specifications can also vary by reference: the official Japan Edition page lists a 39 mm platinum case, 10 mm thickness, 80 m water resistance and JCB-003-A, while the Atelier Series Pietersite page identifies a 39 mm 18k rose-gold watch and describes an optional bracelet.
Warranty and where to buy
Fratello’s 2024 report listed a three-year warranty. Current official Biver product pages state, “All our timepieces come with a 4-year warranty.” The sources do not establish whether that current policy applies retroactively to watches sold in 2024, so buyers should confirm the warranty terms for the specific watch and sale.
Biver says watches are sold through its website and official retail partners. Because some sampled listings were marked sold out and the brand describes limited production, a displayed price alone is not evidence that a particular reference is available for immediate delivery.
