Timex’s launch announcement describes a 40 mm stainless-steel watch with tachymeter and telemeter markings, INDIGLO, and two original dial-and-strap combinations. Those details document the launch; they do not confirm that either version is currently for sale.
What the Beekman is and when it launched
Timex announced the Beekman on August 17, 2018, describing it as a modern take on a racing-inspired Timex watch from the 1960s. According to the company, Todd Snyder visited the Timex archive and was drawn to the vintage watch’s tachymeter complication. Timex framed the new watch as the first tachymeter model co-created in its partnership with Snyder.
In the announcement, Todd Snyder said: “The Beekman brings together two things I really love: classic cars and classic timepieces.” The statement connects the design to the collaboration’s automotive inspiration; it is not an independent assessment of the watch’s construction or performance. The launch announcement does not identify the movement, a model number, or a launch price. It also does not provide independent performance testing, so the listed features should be read as manufacturer specifications rather than review findings.

Timex described two versions at launch. Both had stainless-steel cases; the dial and strap colors distinguished them.

In 2018, Timex said the watches were available through ToddSnyder.com and at Todd Snyder’s Madison Square flagship store. That historical statement does not establish present-day stock, resale prices, or availability on Amazon. A current listing should be checked directly for seller, condition, and which colorway is actually offered.
How the tachymeter works, according to Timex
Timex’s launch post describes using the tachymeter to estimate a car’s speed over a one-mile course. In its example, the wearer starts timing as the car passes the beginning of the mile and stops when it reaches the end; the tachymeter markings then indicate an estimated speed. Timex’s instructions say to pull out the crown when the second hand is at 12 to stop it, push the crown in as the car passes the start, and stop the timing at the end of the mile.

The Beekman also has telemeter markings, but Timex’s announcement does not explain their use. The launch source therefore supports identifying the feature, not a specific operating guide for it.

Timex lists a 20 mm lug width and quick-release spring bars, making a 20 mm quick-release strap a reasonable place to begin when searching for a replacement. Check the strap’s stated width and spring-bar compatibility before buying: the launch announcement does not validate any particular aftermarket strap or guarantee fit.
