Despite the Astronaut name and the line’s historical association with tuning-fork technology, this re-edition uses a Swiss SW330 automatic GMT movement. It is not a tuning-fork watch.

How does the new watch relate to the 1968 “T” version?
The clearest stated connection is the day/night bezel: Accutron says the modern release brings back this feature of the 1968 “T” version. The current watch pairs that design cue with a black matte dial, luminous details and an automatic GMT movement.

What does Accutron say about the Astronaut’s aerospace history?
In its February 7, 2023 announcement, Accutron says the Astronaut was worn in space during Mercury-Atlas 9 in May 1963, became the officially issued watch for USAF X-15 pilots, and was later issued to CIA pilots in the Lockheed A-12 program. These are the company’s historical claims; they should be understood as Accutron’s account rather than an independently established history here.
The same announcement says the Accutron collaboration with NASA involved 46 space missions and 2,000 Accutron precision instruments and timing devices.
