What is the Louis Vuitton Tambour Platinum Rainbow?
W1PT10 is the platinum version of Louis Vuitton’s Tambour Automatic, with a grey dial, small seconds and a rainbow-gradient arrangement of baguette-cut gems. Louis Vuitton describes it as the first Tambour crafted entirely in platinum. The Tambour collection was introduced in 2002, according to the brand’s collection page.
The watch’s case and bracelet are 950/1000 platinum. The 40 mm case is 8.30 mm thick and has a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, an open caseback and a stated water resistance of 50 m. These are manufacturer specifications from the official US product listing.
Gem-setting and dial
The case is set with 43 baguette-cut colored sapphires totaling approximately 1.89 carats and five baguette-cut rubies totaling approximately 0.22 carat. Louis Vuitton describes the eight hues as forming a seamless gradient. The grey dial has small seconds at six o’clock. White-gold hands and indices are set with nine baguette sapphires (approximately 0.24 carat) and two baguette rubies (approximately 0.054 carat); the hands have luminous coating.

What movement is in the W1PT10?
The watch uses Louis Vuitton’s self-winding mechanical caliber LFT023.01. The manufacturer lists a 30.6 mm diameter, 4.2 mm thickness, 31 jewels and a rose-gold micro-rotor made of 916/1000 gold. It runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz) and has a stated power reserve of 50 hours. Its functions are hours, minutes and small seconds.
Louis Vuitton also lists Geneva Chronometric Observatory chronometer certification to ISO 3159 and a stated accuracy of −4/+6 seconds per day. That is the brand’s published specification, not an independent test result.

How many were made?
Louis Vuitton calls W1PT10 a limited edition, and the caseback is engraved “1 of 50.” The official listing therefore identifies an edition of 50 pieces. A reference entry at The Watch Pages records the model as added on February 17, 2025; that database date does not establish current stock.
How much does the Tambour Platinum Rainbow cost?
Hodinkee reported a US launch price of $136,000 in its 2025 launch coverage. Treat that as a historical US launch-market figure, not a current quote or a price applicable in every market. The official US product page currently directs interested buyers to contact an advisor and does not publish a price. It also does not establish present inventory or availability.

The bracelet is 950/1000 platinum. Its invisible three-blade folding buckle is made of 750/1000 white gold. Louis Vuitton states 50 m water resistance. That figure is the published rating; it should not be read as a claim about performance under every kind of water exposure.
