The Monaco is a square-case chronograph. Its skeleton versions add an openworked dial that reveals parts of the movement. Those are distinct features: a watch can have a square case without a skeleton dial, or a skeleton dial in a different case shape. You do not need both to capture the look you like.

The TAG Heuer is the direct reference for the Monaco’s square chronograph-and-skeleton combination, but its US listing price is far above this guide’s $1,000 ceiling. - Check the live price and availability. Confirm the exact model and reference on a current retailer or manufacturer listing, and compare the final price with your $1,000 USD ceiling.
- Measure the case for your wrist. Check the stated width and case thickness, and look for lug-to-lug dimensions if supplied. For a square case, consider its full corner-to-corner footprint rather than judging by width alone.

They do not establish a particular watch under $1,000 that meets the square-case or skeleton brief.
