Yes—but the major answer was not a mystery model confirmed in advance. Amazfit announced the T-Rex 3 Pro on September 5, 2025, at IFA Berlin. It became the premium rugged addition to the T-Rex range, with sapphire glass, a titanium bezel, improved navigation, a built-in flashlight and Bluetooth calling.
There was also an even later qualifying release: Zepp Health’s official press-release archive records the Active Max announcement on December 30, 2025. So the original question was valid, but the better retrospective question is which 2025 Amazfit launch mattered most to buyers—and whether it justified waiting.

What was the rumored late-2025 Amazfit watch?
Before the T-Rex 3 Pro was announced, references to another Amazfit smartwatch were broader than a confirmed product name. Unverified suggestions such as “Falcon 2” or “Balance 2 XT” should not be treated as established models without an official announcement, retailer listing, regulatory record or credible leak.

The T-Rex 3 Pro is therefore best described as the most likely match for the major late-2025 rumor, not proof that every rumor or headline had identified it correctly. Its existence and specifications became official only after Amazfit’s September announcement.

Amazfit had already shown that 2025 would be an unusually busy year. The company used CES, its own announcements and IFA to cover everyday, budget, multisport and rugged categories rather than relying on one flagship release.
Amazfit’s 2025 smartwatch timeline

|---|---|---|
| January 6 | Active 2 | Everyday fitness and lifestyle |
| March 31 | Bip 6 | Budget smartwatch and fitness tracking |
| June 17 | Active 2 Square | Square-format everyday smartwatch |

| September 5 | T-Rex 3 Pro | Premium rugged outdoor watch |

The dates come from Amazfit or Zepp Health announcements collected in the official press-release archive. Announcement, preorder and retail availability are separate milestones, and exact timing can differ by country.
Why another launch was plausible
Amazfit’s release activity made a further 2025 watch plausible, but not guaranteed. The company had released products across several price tiers, and the standard T-Rex 3 had launched in September 2024. That created a reasonable window for a higher-end successor or Pro variant one year later.

The T-Rex 3 Pro was reportedly showcased under embargo during UTMB race week in August 2025 before its public IFA announcement. That is evidence of a planned launch campaign, not evidence that Amazfit follows a fixed annual schedule.

The confirmed Amazfit T-Rex 3 Pro
The T-Rex 3 Pro is a premium outdoor smartwatch rather than a simple cosmetic refresh. It comes in 48mm and 44mm case sizes, making the smaller version especially relevant to people who found earlier rugged watches too large.
- Materials: sapphire-glass display, Grade 5 titanium bezel and titanium buttons.
- Display: 1.5-inch AMOLED on the 48mm model and 1.32-inch AMOLED on the 44mm model; Amazfit lists brightness of up to 3,000 nits.
- Navigation: offline maps, route planning, saved routes, points-of-interest search, turn-by-turn directions and auto-rerouting.
- Positioning: six-satellite positioning systems, with dual-band support listed by Amazfit.
- Outdoor hardware: integrated two-colour LED flashlight with boost mode and 10 ATM water resistance.
- Smartwatch features: built-in speaker and microphone for Bluetooth calling.
- Sports: more than 180 sport modes; the current US product page lists 187.
- Compatibility: Android 7.0 or later and iOS 15.0 or later.
Amazfit claims up to 25 days of typical-use battery life for the 48mm version and up to 17 days for the 44mm version. GPS endurance is much lower and depends on the mode: the company lists roughly 26–38 hours in more accurate GPS modes and up to 86–116 hours in maximum battery-saving modes. Those figures should not be read as heavy-use or continuous-navigation battery results.
The US product page listed the T-Rex 3 Pro at $399.99. Prices, colours, straps and availability vary by region and can change over time.

T-Rex 3 Pro versus T-Rex 3
The standard T-Rex 3 remains the more important comparison than an expensive rival watch. On the official US comparison page, the T-Rex 3 was listed at $279.99, while the Pro was listed at $399.99.

- PRECISE HEART RATE AND SLEEP TRACKING: Amazfit's BioTracker technology tracks your heart rate and sleep data with accuracy that previous sensors just can't match.
- UP TO 10 DAYS OF BATTERY LIFE: With long battery life that lasts up to 10 days with typical use, nightly recharges are a thing of the past.
- FREE MAPS WITH TURN DIRECTIONS: Stay on-track with free downloadable maps, and get turn-by-turn guidance on-screen or via your Bluetooth headphones. Enjoy ski maps for global resorts, including guidance for cable cars, slopes, and more.

| Difference | T-Rex 3 Pro | T-Rex 3 |
|---|---|---|
| Construction | Sapphire glass and Grade 5 titanium bezel/buttons | Gorilla Glass and less premium construction |
| Sizes | 44mm and 48mm | Standard T-Rex 3 format |
| Navigation | Enhanced offline mapping, route planning, POI search and rerouting | Lower-priced navigation feature set |
| Calling | Built-in speaker and microphone for Bluetooth calls | Does not offer the Pro’s same calling hardware |
| Lighting | Integrated two-colour flashlight with boost mode | No equivalent Pro flashlight hardware |
| US list price | $399.99 | $279.99 |
The Pro premium makes the most sense for frequent outdoor users who value scratch resistance from sapphire glass, advanced route tools, a flashlight, Bluetooth calling or a 44mm option. It is harder to justify if the T-Rex 3 already provides the needed battery life, durability and exercise tracking.
Sapphire is scratch-resistant, not scratch-proof, and titanium hardware does not make the entire watch indestructible. Likewise, Bluetooth calling still depends on a connected phone; it does not turn the T-Rex 3 Pro into a cellular smartwatch.
T-Rex 3 Pro versus Balance 2
The Balance 2 is the stronger alternative for buyers who want a general-purpose multisport watch rather than a heavily rugged design. Its official US page listed it at $299.99, substantially below the Pro.

The Balance 2 page lists more than 170 sports modes, downloadable golf-course and ski-resort maps, sapphire glass and up to 21 days of battery life. It is not simply a cheaper T-Rex Pro: its design and feature emphasis are different.

Where the other 2025 watches fit
Active 2
The Active 2 is the sensible choice for everyday wear, health tracking and ordinary workouts. The current US page lists a 44mm stainless-steel case, more than 160 workout modes, GPS turn-by-turn directions, Zepp Flow AI voice control and up to 10 days of battery life. Its listed price range of $99.99–$129.99 makes it a poor substitute for serious outdoor hardware, but excellent value for a casual or general fitness user.
Bip 6
The Bip 6 is the budget option. Its US page lists a $79.99 price, more than 140 workout modes and up to 14 days of battery life. It suits buyers who mainly need activity, sleep, GPS and basic smartwatch functions—not sapphire glass, premium materials or advanced route planning.
Active 2 Square and Active Max
The Active 2 Square broadened the Active line with a square case. The Active Max announcement on December 30 is significant because it means Amazfit technically announced another smartwatch immediately before the end-of-year cutoff. Neither changes the central conclusion that the T-Rex 3 Pro was the major premium outdoor launch of the second half of 2025.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsShould you have waited?
- Outdoor adventurer: Waiting made sense if sapphire glass, improved offline navigation, the flashlight, Bluetooth calling or a smaller rugged case mattered. The T-Rex 3 Pro was the most relevant new option.
- General fitness buyer: Waiting specifically for the Pro was probably unnecessary. The Active 2 offered the more appropriate design and price, while the Balance 2 covered more demanding multisport use.
- Budget shopper: The Bip 6 was the practical answer. Paying four to five times as much for the Pro would buy features that many budget users would not use.
- Existing T-Rex 3 owner: Upgrade only for the Pro’s sapphire glass, enhanced navigation, speaker and microphone, flashlight or 44mm size. A firmware update should not be assumed to reproduce hardware features.
Before buying, check your country’s Amazfit catalogue and the exact 44mm or 48mm specification. Battery claims differ by case size and usage mode, and offline maps require downloads and suitable map data. A watch advertised with Bluetooth calling is also not independent of a phone in the way a cellular model is.
Best Value
- ULTRA-BRIGHT AMOLED DISPLAY: With peak brightness of 2,000 nits, the Amazfit smart watch delivers easy reading of maps and workout data in any light. Night mode and Glove Mode enhance visibility for clear viewing
- DURABILITY FOR EXTREME CONDITIONS: This rugged smart watch, engineered with a 316L stainless steel bezel, withstands temperatures from -22F to 158F, and is water-resistant to 328 feet and can be used for freediving to a depth of 147 Feet
- EXTENDED BATTERY LIFE: The Amazfit T Rex 3 offers over 3 weeks of power with typical use or up to 180 hours in GPS mode, providing long-lasting performance for hiking trips or outdoor activities
- PRECISION NAVIGATION TOOLS: The smart watch for men and women provides free global maps with dual-band positioning. Six satellite systems offer fast, accurate GPS connections and precise turn-by-turn navigation
- EXPANSIVE FITNESS TRACKING: This fitness watch offers 170plus workout modes and AI-generated training plans, providing real-time updates to guide your fitness journey from hiking to surfing
Software and regional caveats
Feature availability can change with firmware, app version, phone operating system and region. Amazfit’s software-update page warns that older products may receive only critical functions and optimisations because of hardware-memory limitations. Do not assume that every feature added to one model will arrive on another.
The specifications and US prices above are time-sensitive signals from official product pages, not universal worldwide prices. Check local availability, supported phone features, payment functions, voice features, map coverage and strap compatibility before ordering. The 44mm and 48mm versions may not share identical display, battery or strap details.
The verdict
The prediction that another Amazfit smartwatch would arrive before the end of 2025 was justified, but the story needed a date-specific update. The standout answer was the T-Rex 3 Pro, announced on September 5 and aimed squarely at buyers who wanted a more premium, navigation-focused rugged watch. The December 30 Active Max announcement means it was not the only qualifying late-year release.

For most shoppers, however, “newest” did not automatically mean “best.” The T-Rex 3 Pro earned its premium through materials and outdoor hardware; the Balance 2 was the better-value multisport alternative, and the Active 2 or Bip 6 made more sense for everyday or budget use.
