Verdict: Amazon’s July 12, 2024 pre-order promotion for Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 7 was real. It advertised a free additional band and three months of Amazon Music Unlimited with the 40mm watch, whose reported starting price was $299. The offer was not reported for the 44mm model or Galaxy Watch Ultra. Because the pre-order window ended in 2024, it should be treated as an archived deal—not an active August 2026 offer.
Any current Galaxy Watch 7 listing may have different pricing, sellers, bundles, or subscription terms. Check the live Amazon page and checkout disclosures before assuming an accessory or Music trial is included.
What the original Amazon promotion included
Android Headlines reported on July 12, 2024 that Amazon was taking pre-orders for Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 7 with two extras:
- A free additional watch band.
- Three months of Amazon Music Unlimited.
The report gave the watch a starting price of $299 and identified the qualifying product as the 40mm Galaxy Watch 7. It did not report the same package for the 44mm Galaxy Watch 7 or Galaxy Watch Ultra. See the contemporary report at Android Headlines.

The surviving coverage does not establish the exact band model, color or size choices, whether the band was automatically added or selected during ordering, whether it shipped separately, or whether every seller and configuration qualified. It also does not preserve a redemption deadline. Those details should be treated as unverified rather than assumed.
Which Galaxy Watch 7 configuration was involved?
Samsung sold the Watch 7 in 40mm and 44mm cases, with Bluetooth and LTE connectivity. Samsung’s U.S. MSRP reference lists these launch-era prices:
| Configuration | Historical U.S. MSRP |
|---|---|
| 40mm Bluetooth | $299.99 |
| 40mm LTE | $349.99 |
| 44mm Bluetooth | $329.99 |
| 44mm LTE | $379.99 |
These figures come from Samsung’s U.S. wearable MSRP document, effective June 2025, and are historical reference prices rather than verified August 2026 selling prices: Samsung’s MSRP PDF.

The promotion report says “40mm” but does not conclusively say whether both 40mm Bluetooth and 40mm LTE versions qualified. Do not interpret the report as proof that every 40mm color, seller, or connectivity variant received the bundle.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems40mm or 44mm?
The 40mm is the compact option. The 44mm provides a larger display and is generally the better fit for shoppers who prioritize screen area or potentially greater battery capacity. Since the reported promotion was limited to 40mm, the free band should not decide the size choice for someone who needs the larger case.
Bluetooth or LTE?
Bluetooth models rely more on a paired phone for connectivity. LTE models can operate more independently for calls and data but cost more up front and may require a carrier plan. The July 2024 report does not identify which connectivity version received the Amazon promotion.

What the Galaxy Watch 7 offered at launch
Samsung positioned the Watch 7 as an upgrade over the Galaxy Watch 6. It introduced the company’s newer BioActive Sensor, used Samsung’s health and wellness software, ran on the Wear OS 5 platform with Samsung’s software layer, and used the Exynos W1000 processor. Samsung’s product information is available on its Galaxy Watch 7 page; platform information also appears in Samsung’s 2025 first-quarter interim report.
Samsung promoted features including sleep-apnea risk identification and Energy Score-style wellness analysis. These are not universal medical capabilities: availability can depend on country, regulatory approval, compatible hardware, Samsung Health Monitor, software version, and phone model. They are wellness or health-monitoring tools, not a substitute for clinical diagnosis.
Samsung’s compatibility guidance requires an Android phone running Android 11 or later with at least 1.5GB of memory. The official support details are at Samsung Support. This evidence does not establish iPhone compatibility, so iPhone users should not assume the watch will work with their phone.

How the three-month Amazon Music benefit worked
The promotion was for Amazon Music Unlimited, not simply the music access included with an Amazon Prime membership. Amazon’s current U.S. pages explain that promotional trials are limited-time offers for eligible subscribers and can automatically renew into a paid plan.
- Existing or former Amazon Music Unlimited subscribers may not qualify.
- A payment method may be required even when the initial period is free.
- The subscription can renew automatically after the trial.
- Prime and non-Prime customers have different individual-plan pricing, while family and student plans have separate eligibility rules.
Amazon’s current Music Unlimited page displays automatic renewal at $11.99 per month for non-Prime customers and $10.99 per month for Prime customers after a promotional period, subject to change: Amazon Music Unlimited. Amazon says updated prices for new customers took effect January 29, 2025, and explains plan distinctions and eligibility in its Music Unlimited FAQ. Those current terms do not prove that the 2024 three-month promotion is still available.
If a current listing offers a trial, record the displayed renewal date, post-trial price, eligibility language, and cancellation instructions before accepting it. Cancel before the billing date if you do not want a paid subscription.

Was the archived deal good value?
Its value depended on what you were buying and which extras you could actually use. The reported $299 was the watch’s historical starting price, not a documented discount. The band had real value only if its specific model and standalone price were known; the surviving report does not identify either, so assigning a dollar amount would be guesswork. The Music benefit was useful only to an eligible subscriber who wanted the service and avoided unwanted renewal.
It made more sense when
- You wanted a standalone smartwatch rather than a new Samsung phone.
- You preferred the smaller 40mm case.
- You were eligible for Amazon Music Unlimited and valued an extra band.
- You preferred Amazon’s ordering, shipping, or returns.
It was weaker when
- You needed the larger 44mm display or LTE connectivity.
- You already had, or had recently used, Amazon Music Unlimited.
- A Samsung phone bundle or trade-in promotion offered more total value.
- You disliked recurring subscriptions or might forget to cancel.
- The listing came from a third-party marketplace seller with unclear terms.
How to evaluate a current Amazon listing
The 2024 package has expired. Use this checklist for any replacement promotion rather than relying on an old headline or cached description:
- Open the live Galaxy Watch 7 listing.
- Confirm the seller and whether the item is new, renewed, or refurbished.
- Verify the case size, Bluetooth or LTE version, color, and exact product configuration.
- Look for a separate band line item, a “free accessory” disclosure, or an automatically applied bundle.
- Add the watch to the cart and confirm that any advertised band appears at $0.
- Check the cart or checkout page for a Music Unlimited offer and its eligibility terms.
- Read the trial length, renewal date, post-trial price, and cancellation instructions.
- Save the order confirmation and promotion terms.
- If the band or Music benefit is missing from the cart or confirmation, do not assume it will arrive later.
- Ask Amazon support for clarification before ordering if the wording is ambiguous.
Common reasons a replacement offer may fail
- Nothing appears at checkout: The promotion may have ended, inventory may have changed, or the selected configuration may not qualify.
- A 44mm watch was selected: The archived offer was reported for 40mm, not 44mm.
- The seller is a marketplace merchant: Third-party inventory may not carry Amazon’s original terms.
- The product is renewed: Refurbished listings should not be assumed to qualify.
- The Music trial is rejected: Prior subscription history can make an account ineligible.
- An unexpected charge appears: Promotional subscriptions can auto-renew after the free period.
- The region differs: Amazon Music terms and Samsung health features vary by country; this offer was reported in a U.S.-focused context.
Current status
As of August 18, 2026, there is no basis for calling the July 2024 pre-order package active. The launch and pre-order period passed more than two years ago. A Galaxy Watch 7 may still be listed on Amazon, but a current listing, price, free-band inclusion, or Music eligibility must be verified on that page and at checkout.
The Bottom Line
The Amazon promotion was a legitimate July 2024 offer for the reported 40mm Galaxy Watch 7: a free additional band and three months of Amazon Music Unlimited at a $299 starting price. It is now an archive item. Treat any present-day listing as a separate offer and verify its seller, exact configuration, accessory line item, and subscription terms before paying.
