Android Central published its Best of 2025 Awards on December 29, 2025, naming winners across phones, wearables, XR, computers and tablets, apps, audio, and accessories. Its overall Android phone pick was the OnePlus 15; other headline winners included the Pixel Watch 4, Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14, Spotify, and Sony WH-1000XM6. These are Android Central’s editorial choices based on its reviews and testing—not a consumer vote or a universal ranking. Treat the awards as a snapshot of 2025, not a live August 2026 buying guide: prices, availability, software support, and newer alternatives may have changed. Android Central’s awards article also says purchases through its links may earn it an affiliate commission.
Every Android Central Best of 2025 winner at a glance
The list spans very different kinds of products, so a category winner should not be read as the best choice for every buyer. “Runner-up” is a secondary pick; “best value” is a value judgment tied to the price and market context at the time; “most improved brand” recognizes a company rather than one product.
| Category | Winner or recognition | Secondary pick | What to keep in mind in 2026 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Android phone | OnePlus 15 | Pixel 10 Pro was runner-up overall and won best camera | Compare current flagships, support, camera priorities, and local carrier compatibility. |
| Value phone | CMF Phone 2 Pro | None stated | The award article listed it at $250 in December 2025; that is not a current-price guarantee. |
| Foldable and flip phone | Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7; Motorola Razr Ultra 2025 | None stated | Check newer models, repair costs, warranty, and exact regional variants. |
| Most improved brand | Samsung | None stated | This is Android Central’s editorial assessment, not an industry-wide consensus. |
| Wearables | Google Pixel Watch 4; Oura Ring 4; Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 | Oakley Meta Vanguard for athletes | Check phone compatibility, subscriptions, regional features, and privacy trade-offs. |
| XR and VR games | XREAL One Pro; Marvel’s Deadpool VR for single-player; Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked for multiplayer | Samsung Galaxy XR | Confirm headset or host-device requirements and current regional availability. |
| Chromebook, tablet, e-reader | Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14; OnePlus Pad 3; Amazon Kindle Scribe | None stated | Configurations, accessories, update support, and ecosystem fit vary. |
| Apps and services | Spotify; Netflix; Gemini; Pokémon TCG Pocket | None stated | Catalogs, subscription terms, feature access, and monetization can change. |
| Audio and accessories | Spigen; Anker; Sony WH-1000XM6; Apple AirPods Pro 3 | Thinborne for premium thin cases | Match accessories to the exact device and consider how well Apple products work with Android. |
The full category breakdown appears in Android Central’s phone awards, wearables awards, XR and games awards, Chromebooks and tablets awards, apps and services awards, and audio and accessories awards.
Phones: the 2025 picks and their trade-offs
Android Central’s phone awards distinguish an overall pick from winners for specific needs. A camera category win, for example, does not mean that phone is the best choice for battery life, price, or video.

Best Android phone: OnePlus 15
Android Central named the OnePlus 15 its overall Best Android Phone, citing performance, battery life, and a 165Hz display. Those are the publication’s stated reasons, not independent lab findings in this article. It is the pick to investigate if speed, endurance, and a high-refresh-rate screen matter most. Before buying in 2026, compare its camera and software experience with current rivals, confirm the exact US model and carrier support, and check whether a newer generation has changed the value equation. The award page links to OnePlus’s US site; it does not establish current price or carrier compatibility.
Best camera: Google Pixel 10 Pro
The Pixel 10 Pro was the overall runner-up and the camera-category winner. Android Central highlighted Gemini-powered photography features. “Best camera” is an editorial category rather than a single universal measurement: still photos, video, zoom, portraits, low light, and social-app output can favor different phones. AI editing and generative tools may also raise questions about image authenticity and how images are processed. Check current feature availability and privacy terms for your region. Google’s US phone store is the linked vendor reference, not evidence of a current price.
Best value: CMF Phone 2 Pro
Android Central called the CMF Phone 2 Pro its best-value phone and listed a $250 price in its December 2025 article. That figure is a dated price signal, not an August 2026 quote. Value depends on what the phone costs now and what you give up: compare performance, camera quality, update policy, 5G bands, and carrier compatibility with other budget phones available where you live. The award page does not establish a current US price or whether every US carrier supports it. Its vendor link is Nothing’s US site.
Best foldable: Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 won the foldable category, with Android Central emphasizing its slimmer design. A large inner screen can make multitasking more useful, but that advantage comes with a high purchase price and potential repair costs. Check whether the apps you rely on take advantage of the larger display, and account for weight, thickness, battery and camera trade-offs, screen protection, warranty, and insurance before buying. The award does not establish how the Fold 7 compares with later 2026 releases. Samsung’s linked product page is the US Galaxy Z Fold 7 page.

Android Central selected the Razr Ultra 2025 as its leading flip phone, citing premium performance. Its compact folded shape and cover screen are the appeal; hinge longevity, camera quality, software-update longevity, and the usefulness of cover-screen apps are practical questions to weigh. Model names, carrier support, and availability can differ by region. Since this award recognizes a 2025 model, compare it with the 2026 generation before deciding. Most improved brand: Samsung
Samsung received Android Central’s most-improved-brand recognition for its 2025 innovation, with the Galaxy Z TriFold among the examples cited. This is a judgment about Samsung’s year, not a claim that every Samsung product is best in its category.
Wearables: smartwatch, ring, and glasses winners
Best smartwatch: Google Pixel Watch 4
The Pixel Watch 4 won Android Central’s smartwatch category. The publication cited better battery life, faster charging, satellite SOS, and a redesigned appearance; those assessments should not be treated as guaranteed performance for every use pattern. Check Android compatibility, Fitbit and Google account requirements, and whether the health and emergency features you want are available in your country. Actual battery life can vary with always-on display, LTE, and GPS use; check any subscription requirements for emergency services and the cost of repair or replacement. Google’s linked reference is its US watch store.
Best smart ring: Oura Ring 4
Oura Ring 4 won for a second consecutive year, with Android Central citing its Ceramic finish and Advisor AI feature. Ring sizing matters, and a ring used for health tracking may be harder to return, so review sizing and return terms before ordering. Oura’s full feature set is associated with a membership; confirm current price and included benefits directly with Oura. Ring metrics are wellness information, not medical diagnoses. If recurring fees are a deal-breaker, compare alternatives and their subscription policies.
Best smart glasses: Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2
Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 took the smart-glasses award; Oakley Meta Vanguard was the athletic runner-up. Camera and microphone recording can affect other people’s privacy as well as the wearer’s, so consider when and where recording is appropriate. The glasses depend on a paired phone for much of their experience, and battery life, prescription-lens availability, and AI features vary. Regional restrictions may limit AI functions. Check fit and prescription options at Ray-Ban Meta’s US page and confirm the exact Oakley model at Oakley US.
XR glasses and VR games
Best XR glasses: XREAL One Pro
Android Central selected the XREAL One Pro, citing a thinner design and wider viewing angle. These glasses should not be confused with a standalone VR headset: the experience may depend on a compatible phone, computer, or handheld, and USB-C DisplayPort video output. Fit, interpupillary distance, prescription inserts, and optional accessories can all affect usability. Also distinguish screen mirroring from spatial computing; the glasses’ award does not establish that every host device supports the same capabilities. Check compatibility and accessory needs at XREAL’s site.

Runner-up: Samsung Galaxy XR
Galaxy XR was Android Central’s runner-up, described in the roundup as an early Android XR device able to run Android apps and games. That platform-level description is not a guarantee that every app, game, or feature is supported in every region or current software version. Confirm present availability and app support through Samsung’s US site before treating it as a practical alternative.
VR game winners
- Best single-player VR: Marvel’s Deadpool VR.
- Best multiplayer VR: Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked.
The award recognizes the games, not a complete headset ecosystem. Before purchasing, check each game’s supported headset and whether it is standalone or requires a PC, plus any multiplayer service or account requirements. Age ratings and motion comfort are personal considerations; motion-sensitive players may want to look for comfort settings and try a short session before committing.
Chromebooks, tablets, and e-readers
Best Chromebook: Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14
The Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14 won the Chromebook award. The name alone does not identify one universal configuration: verify processor, memory, storage, display, keyboard, and trackpad for the specific model on sale. Check Google’s Auto Update Expiration date for that configuration, along with Linux and Android app support for the work you plan to do. Lenovo’s linked US Chromebook page is a place to check current models, not confirmation that a particular award configuration remains available.
Best tablet: OnePlus Pad 3
Android Central chose the OnePlus Pad 3 over Samsung’s tablet offerings. Consider screen size and refresh rate alongside the total cost of any separate keyboard or stylus. App optimization and multitasking software matter as much as specifications if you want to use a tablet for work. Check whether the model you can buy has cellular connectivity and what update support is promised. If you already own a Samsung phone or accessories, compare ecosystem integration before choosing. The linked vendor reference is OnePlus’s US site.
Best e-reader: Amazon Kindle Scribe
The Kindle Scribe won the e-reader category. Its appeal differs from that of an LCD tablet: e-ink is designed for reading, while handwriting and note-taking are additional uses. Consider Amazon’s book ecosystem, library borrowing options in your area, supported formats, and the cost of any accessories or subscriptions you use. E-ink refresh and color capabilities are not the same as a conventional tablet display. Compare the exact generation at Amazon’s Kindle page.

Apps and services
Best music streaming service: Spotify
Spotify kept the music-streaming award, with Android Central citing lossless audio for Premium users, AI DJ, and Prompted Playlists. Lossless access depends on plan, region, device, and rollout status; check what is currently available to your account before subscribing for that feature. Catalog, recommendations, offline listening, and household needs may matter more than audio format. Plan names and prices change; see Spotify Premium’s US page for current terms.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Best video streaming service: Netflix
Netflix was named the best video streaming service. “Best” depends heavily on which shows and films you want and how many people share the account. Catalogs, ad tiers, simultaneous streams, pricing, and account-sharing rules vary by country and can change. Check the current offering at Netflix’s signup page rather than relying on a 2025 award to answer a 2026 subscription question.
Best Android app: Gemini
Gemini won Android Central’s Best Android App award. Before relying on it, distinguish the job you need done—assistant, search, writing, or image editing—and verify which features are free or paid, available in your language and region, and covered by the account’s age requirements. AI responses can be wrong or invent details, so verify consequential information. Review Google’s privacy and data-retention terms before sharing sensitive material. Current product access is available at Gemini; paid-plan details are at Google One’s Gemini plans page.
Best Android game: Pokémon TCG Pocket
Android Central selected Pokémon TCG Pocket, a free-to-download game centered on collecting cards, building decks, and battling. Free to download does not mean free of optional purchases, progression limits, or other monetization. Check the age rating, parental controls, and online requirements for your region. The game’s official page is Pokémon TCG Pocket.

Best phone-case manufacturer: Spigen; premium thin runner-up: Thinborne
Spigen won the case-maker category, while Thinborne was identified as the premium thin-case runner-up. Choose based on the protection you need: thinner designs trade some bulk for less impact protection. Check exact phone-model fit, screen and camera-lip coverage, grip, wireless-charging compatibility, and return terms. Thinborne’s slim profile is not a substitute for checking drop protection. Vendor pages: Spigen and Thinborne.

Sedentary reminders help you stay moving during long workdays. It’s the kind of smart convenience that simplifies your day, right from your wrist
Best chargers and power banks: Anker
Anker won the charger and power-bank brand category. Match the charger’s USB-C Power Delivery wattage to your device; some Samsung and Google phones benefit from PPS support. Check cable ratings and how a multiport charger divides power across connected devices. GaN chargers can still get warm under load. For flights, confirm the applicable airline and aviation rules for power-bank capacity, and buy from a trusted source to reduce the risk of counterfeit or uncertified gear. Anker’s vendor page is anker.com.
Best wireless headphones: Sony WH-1000XM6
Sony’s WH-1000XM6 won the wireless-headphones category; Android Central highlighted sound quality and lossless-audio support. Lossless listening is conditional on the source device, connection method or protocol, and service, rather than a guarantee across every wireless setup. Fit affects noise cancellation, which also varies by environment. Compare comfort, microphone quality, multipoint behavior, codec support, and app controls for your use. Sony’s linked product page is the WH-1000XM6 page.
Best earbuds: Apple AirPods Pro 3
AirPods Pro 3 won the earbud category despite the roundup’s Android-centered readership; Android Central cited ANC, a redesigned fit, and a heart-rate monitor. They can work as Bluetooth earbuds with Android, but Apple-linked features—including pairing conveniences, firmware updates, device switching, Find My, Siri, and health functions—may be limited or work best with Apple devices. Android users should compare Google Pixel Buds, Samsung Galaxy Buds, Sony, Bose, and other options for native controls and integration before choosing. See Apple’s AirPods Pro page for current product information.
How to use the awards when shopping in 2026
The most useful way to read the roundup is as a shortlist, then apply your own buying criteria. The awards do not establish that a 2025 winner is still the best purchase at today’s price.
- Start with the use case. A camera-focused buyer, a frequent traveler, a fitness tracker user, and a tablet note-taker need different things from products in the same category.
- Check current availability and compatibility. Confirm the exact regional model, carrier bands, supported devices, app or game requirements, and regional feature limits.
- Compare total ownership cost. Include subscriptions, accessories, repairs, insurance, replacement parts, and any account or service requirements—not just the device price.
- Check software support and longevity. Look up update commitments, Chromebook Auto Update Expiration, and whether a newer generation has already changed the comparison.
- Match the award to its evidence. Treat Android Central’s superlatives as editorial judgments informed by its reviews and testing, not as standardized laboratory rankings or promises of a particular result for every user.
Android Central’s December 29, 2025 awards roundup is a useful record of what its editors favored that year. It cannot by itself establish August 2026 pricing, stock, warranty terms, regional features, or the best choice for an individual buyer.
