Apple Calendar can show events in chronological list form on iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch, but the controls differ. On iPhone, choose between a list for selected days and a continuous list of upcoming events; on iPad, tap List; on Apple Watch, find List under More Options.
Show a complete list of upcoming events on iPhone
- Open Calendar.
- Switch to Day view.
- Tap the Day view button.
- Tap List.
This displays upcoming events as a continuous list rather than limiting the list to a day selected from the month grid. Apple documents this route in its iPhone Calendar view guide.
Show a selected day’s events as a list on iPhone
- Open Calendar and switch to Month view.
- Tap the Month view button.
- Choose List.
- Tap a date to see that day’s events in list form.
This option keeps the month as your starting point and shows events for the selected day. It is different from Day view → List, which shows upcoming events in a continuous list. The labels or placement may vary slightly with software version, device layout, and language.
View events as a list on iPad
- Open Calendar.
- Tap List at the top of the screen.
iPad List view shows upcoming events. Other available layouts include Day, Week, Month, and Year. Look for the List button alongside the view controls; Apple’s iPad Calendar guide describes this direct route.

View events as a list on Apple Watch
- Open the Calendar app on Apple Watch.
- Tap More Options (…) .
- Tap List.
Turn the Digital Crown to scroll. Tap an event to see details such as its time, location, invitee status, and notes. Apple Watch also offers Up Next, Day, Week, and Month views. See Apple’s Apple Watch Calendar guide for the available views and controls.
List or Up Next?
Up Next focuses on upcoming events for the week. List is the broader chronological view and can include recent past events as well as future ones. Apple’s guide describes different past-event ranges in different sections, so it is safer not to rely on a specific number of weeks being shown.

If events are missing from the list
A list view only displays events available to that device: the relevant calendar must be selected, its account must be enabled and syncing, and the event must fall within the view’s date range.
Check which calendars are selected
On iPhone, open Calendar, tap Calendars, and make sure the calendar containing the event is selected. The calendars list may include iCloud, Google, Exchange, subscribed calendars, holidays, and birthdays. Apple explains calendar selection and accounts in its iPhone guide to using multiple calendars.

Check the account that holds the event
An event may belong to Google Calendar, Microsoft Exchange, or another account rather than iCloud. Check that the relevant account and its calendar are available and selected in Calendar; enabling iCloud alone will not make an event stored in a different account appear.
Check iCloud Calendar on iPhone
- Open Settings.
- Tap your name, then iCloud.
- Tap See All next to the apps or information saved to iCloud.
- Tap iCloud Calendar and turn on Use on this iPhone.
Apple’s iCloud Calendar instructions cover this setting. iCloud can keep calendars up to date on devices signed in to the same Apple Account, while Google and Exchange calendars may sync through their own accounts. For iPad account and sync details, see Apple’s iPad Calendar account guide.

Check Apple Watch calendar selection
On the paired iPhone, open the Watch app and go to My Watch → Calendar. Review the calendar or notification options; if you use Custom, select the calendars you want. Watch calendar data is normally synced from the paired iPhone, subject to the account, calendar-selection, and sync settings.
Consider the date range
List views are not necessarily an unlimited archive of past and future events. This matters particularly on Apple Watch, where Apple documents a bounded range but gives conflicting descriptions of its exact historical extent.

Reminders in Apple Watch Calendar
On Apple Watch, reminders from the Reminders app can appear while you view Calendar in Day or List view. Tap a reminder and choose Open in Reminders to see it there. This describes the Apple Watch behavior, not a guarantee that reminders appear in every Calendar view on every device.
